Are people really arguing over the abilities of Paul Reynolds and the Edge? When VH1 did their Bands Reunited episode for A Flock of Seagulls, Reynolds could barely play "I Ran" when they performed; last I checked, Edge still has it.
@bowiemars sorry, listen to "Boy" (1980) or watch live U2 from 1981...the edge was using delay then. paul reynolds sounds good, but no match for the edge.
So simple SO complex. .Note the ethereal sky shots in the beginning. . back in a brief time, the new wave awakened the dreamers, falcons, seagulls, their hair, their sound, their style. . these men wanted to be birds. . .men who looked to the sky. . men searching for their ancestry. . ancient ancestry. . man has not evolved. . .he has devolved. ..watch today's garbage music. . not even music. . .let the SkyWalkers come again. . .the spaceage awakened this. . .why did it go away. . .
Like most youngsters my age, I was aware of I Ran, and I thought it was a pretty cool track, ya know, classic. In Junior High I bought an old turntable-endtable for $10 at a garage sale, and this album was among a few albums there. Naturally, I was like, hell yeah son, I'm gonna play that song out so hard! I believe that this was the track right after I Ran on the album, and I couldn't even fathom what I was hearing, and how important this song still is to me, to this day. Flockin' right.
I've watched the VH1 special where the lead singer says he's gonna "Puke" if someone requests he sings I Ran but, I love this song better than that one. I hope he doesn't puke when someone requests that he sings "Space Age Love Song" because I prefer it over "I Ran".
I was so lucky to have met them in 1983 a night I will never forget and met Mike Score dozen of times a awesome nice guy and met the guys when they did a reunion Damn I love this band.
My mom loves 80s music. I remember being four years old and sitting in her lap as we drove down a country road really late at night. This song was on the radio, the windows were down, it was warm and I was steering. One of the best memories of my life.
@onlyrevolutions2010 That's so cool! Something weird happened just now when I listened to this song. A time portal transported me back to 1982, I was a kid again, I could really feel, and "for a little while, I was falling in love."
@onlyrevolutions2010 It's wonderful to remember things that may be so insignificant to others but to you, that moment makes you feel amazing. thanks for making me feel happy:)
@onlyrevolutions2010 That's awesome! This song is like a dream in the form of a song..or something lol. One of my favorite songs ever. Glad you got to experience it like that! Very cool!
OMG! This is soooo 80's! The hair, makeup and fashion not to mention that the music is just the best! I can picture my friends and I dancing to this at the school dance doing the famous 80's style of dancing, lol, and feeling free and alive. I had so much fun times then, crazy times and the best of memories. There is nothing like the 80's and those of us who lived it know what I am saying here. :-) The 80's was a special time in history. I just love the 80's sooo much! & I miss the 80's too! :-(
@CTasara Thanks so much for such a nice comment to me. :-) I wouldnt feel so bad about saying you havent " lived " the 80's because in my opinion, if you remember them, you have lived them. You have. :-)
@CTasara Maybe! :-D hahaha! I did have some fun times! :-P But I dont think anyone from that time can measure who had the most fun, we all had fun! It was great! I am sure you did too! :-D
1982 brought me here when I first heard this song and loved it. I was a sophomore in high school. I can't think of a better time to grow up. If I were a sophomore now, shit man I'd be hatin life with the choices of music that's out now. I'd be in a serious hurt locker. I just can't see myself going to see High School Musical or watching Twilight. Just so all the youngens know, the early 80's was the best time ever of all time!
@bigdsears i'm a sophomore now and you know exactly how i feel. Everyone at my school listens to Lil' Wayne and Justin bieber s**t. I'm also getting tired of people saying swag all the time, it's so annoying. I wish I was born in the 60s or early 70s because todays so called "music" is starting to get worse every damn year. I think i was born in the wrong decade.
@username7046 Yeah, swag, what an over used term and I hear it too, my friend here at work is kinda young and he says it all the time and all the girls laugh at him like he's super funny. He carrys this backpack too with him all the time and I don't even think anything is in it. His hair is all spiked up in the front, I guess that's the edgy look these days. He's got an asian tatoo too, I don't even think he knows what it means. And let me tell you about his cell phone oh boy talk about overuse
this song is featured on the stateboarding documentary stoked: the rise and fall of marc gator rogowski, as well as grand theft auto miami psp version amazing song
Wonderful song! And yes, we Americans have always lagged behind Europe and the UK musically, and now that both Japan and South Korea have defeated us in the pop culture wars, insult has been added to injury.
europop was the thing back in the 80s. american pop was just soooo behind europop in everything when i was a kid. these songs brings so much memories it makes me both happy and sad.
Yeah this makes me cry every time I hear it because it makes me think of falling in love with my ex...I miss you so much wolfy. Too bad a song can't make it all better.
@diegorivera1201 That's because CN is run by dumb asses. Word is they didn't make enuf money of merchandising. But according to what I read they never made any merchandise. So basically because a toy they never made never sold the show was canceled.
@Anonymous01959 So, I'm new to the whole youtube and social media universe. Is there anything I can do to rally people to talk to CN and bring back Symbionic Titan. I mean you hear about that kind of stuff all time with other shows that suck ass. how do I start a movement that saves a really good show?
@diegorivera1107 Sorry i don't know that. And I doubt it would do any good. I doubt the CN execs care about viewer opinions and what I read said the guy who created the show has moved on to another network and working on a new project.
1982. it was my first time in Europe. I met a cute blonde Australian and spent the best three weeks of my traveling with her everywhere. When I came home, all I could do was look at the pictures we took together and play this song in in the background repeatedly. Bittersweet memories. Thank you for the post.
@Kenebutch No kidding I remember this song in the dead cold of winter, and then things would seem okay again, and I think of the sexy dj on the radio that used to introduce this song....WOW where did the time go?
What i could not understand from human being is they continually whine about almost everything. Is it such a big deal for somebody to say that a decade for ex: The 80's was great? Is it crime to say that. WTF? What is this? A Communist world?
Que buenasa esta banda A FLOCK OF SEGULLS en especial esta cancion me agrada el tono de guitarra,yo tengo 20 años pero me agrada mucho las bandas de los 80
@asterius909 Welll first of all I need to grow up my hair cause now it's only about 5 cm long and I need at least 20cm :( that will take pretty long time..
perhaps the one song that completely encapsulates the eighties sound, the new wave sound, just so right on the mark, from the opening to the end it does not falter. This band in my humble opinion is one of the overlooked bands from that time due to I ran being considered a one hit wonder, take a deeper look and they have a lot more to offer
I remember in 1988, kickin it with my roomies in our appartment, stereo blasting Tesla and MTV on the tube on mute. This is one of my top fav euro hits from the 80s. Wow, to pull off a 3-day 80s-pallooza would be something else. I wouldn't care if they lip-synced the whole thing. Have the top 40-50 bands from the 80s. Maybe talk some of the ladies into sporting the big hair, mini-skirt and pumps, for old time sake. Us guys might even pull off the Don Johnson Cavariccis and Bugle Boy ensemble.
I was 18 in 1982. We had some great music. Nite Tracks before MTV came to our area. It was some music to party to on the weekend nights. Turn on the TV and have some vids of great music playing in the background at parties. Girls wore the greatest tight jeans and had the greatest hair. Weed was dirt cheap, and there was no meth epidemic, STDs were rare. The world didn't hate us, terrorists were just something in a cheap movie. We were all so young then, in more ways than one.
Great song. I wish it was the 80s again. Great times for me and for so many others.

This band in my humble opinion is one of the overlooked bands from that time due to I ran being considered a one hit wonder, take a deeper look and they have a lot more to offer

The Flock hit #30 in Billboard, 2-12-83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

Us guys might even pull off the Don Johnson Cavariccis and Bugle Boy ensemble.

take away the crazy hair gimmick and this was a really solid, kick ass synth band. Awesome 80s!

This one and "I Ran" are two of my favorites by the "Great 1980's New Wave Group!"

Love this song. Anyone else think that Paul Reynolds sounds like The Edge of U2?
