I think that linking this issue to racism is utterly ridiculous. This issue has absolutely nothing to do with racism and even consider that it is is absurd.
The best solution would be for Japan to be honest and say that the whaling is not for science but for the supermarkets (and don't say it isn't). To any Japanese people who speak English: In the media(the news, mostly), we are told that the wales that the Japanese whalers are killing are endangered, and if it goes on much longer those species will be extinct. I have no idea if this is true or not, but this is what people are told, and many believe it.

I think that linking this issue to racism is utterly ridiculous. This issue has absolutely nothing to do with racism and even consider that it is is absurd.
The best solution would be for Japan to be honest and say that the whaling is not for science but for the supermarkets (and don't say it isn't). It would be then useful for the politicians to stop using this as a vote grabber in Australia. At any rate, if it doesn't happen in Australian waters, then there is bugger all we can do about it.

@rajini870 the fact is, though I agree this story is horrible, things like this happen anywhere in the world all the time, and definitly not uniquely in Australia. There are racists sickos all over the world. - Do you have a source for what you state concerning the penalty ?

I used to think that Australia is a nice place but seems that i was wrong. This racism around whaling issue makes me fucking sick. Aussies and other antiwhalers have no right to say that Japanese are barbaric. While they're biggest aminal abusers on the world.

確かに外国に住んでみて、その国の良いところも沢山見て経験しましたが、それと同時に日本の良いところも改めて理解できたものです。まだ本当の日本と外国の社会を経験したことがないのに日本と外国を単純比較するのはいかがなものでしょうか？隣の芝生は青く見えるものですよね。遠くから見れば日本の良いところも理解できるかもしれませんね。
