Hm, I thought he was pausing to keep the game in sync, like stop recording and start on a new file. I know ZSNES tends to tweak out if a record is too long.

My best guess is he's trying to manipulate the RNG to give him the item he wants on every item box. I don't know how the RNG in this game changes, but in many games, simply pressing buttons on the controller can change it, so maybe that holds true here.

@Azure30 it doesnt. its a TAS run, he doesnt get what hes after, he reruns the last couple of seconds over and over and over again. theres actually not a great deal of skill in what hes doing.
