I was four-years-old when Ken Griffey, Jr. was a rookie in Major League Baseball. As I was developing a sense for the game, it was alongside "The Kid" developing his legacy. We can all trace back our baseball roots to one person who delivered the game to us. That person was my grandfather. I remember looking up at him one afternoon and asking if Junior could steal a home run from the Green Monster. I'm now going to school to become a baseball journalist. Here's to the last legend in baseball.
wow..(rotondiful) the catch in detroit 4:18 if you look close when ken goes up for the catch in the left hand corner right near him there is a lil kid who would have had his first big league ball.... yes that was me and my favorite player just took a ball form me. my best memory ever
The "forgotten" catch against Detroit at 4:18 is quite possibly Griffey's greatest catch ever, and frankly, one of the best catches ever caught on film. It's a shame this catch doesn't have more publicity.
Every time he swung the bat in this video I had to put on a new pair of underwear.
