hey does anybody know if herbie mann really played the flute on this song, or if they sampled him, becuase I can't find it on the internet. they don't mention him anywhere else but here
this is such and awesome track, love it, chilling on it now, nice buzz, good groove, doesn't get better.. Just checked this really awesome track from a new acid jazz guy.. This is a must hear,, truly. search on " Pai Crowd, Jamie Ruben " you are going to dig that for sure!
this is what its all about proper players playing proper music its a shame that these guys will never have the masses listern to there music .not like that shit on the talent shows
I uploaded an entirely electronic "ambient acid jazz." It just depends on how you use electronics. The synthesized sax still has plenty of emotion. It is a bit more relaxed than this too, lol.
It's possible to make nice music with electronics, but it's never worth of real, human played music. You can't hear the emotion, the playing skills, the joy of playing together with a band, even any misstakes, in electronic music. It's just cold and synthetic shadow of its idol.
@elguitarr1sta electronic sampling and tones can add a new level of atmosphere and feeling to music. many people seem to think electronic stuff just makes itself. people actually have to manipulate it.
the problem with making electronic music is that u have to plan every single thing you put on tape in advance. there's little room for improvising or taking advantage of "being in the moment"
I love Acid Jazz. Jazz too. But I don't really know many Acid Jazz artists so I can't listen to alot of stuff like this. Anyone reading this comments want to suggest some good stuff to me?
Don't be misled by the title! This is not Herbie Mann on the flute, its Edoard Labor, french saxophone and flute player who recorded for Ludovic Navarre on this album.
@zslash99 I was about to say you have no taste, but then I opened your profile and saw you liked Portishead - Glory Box... then I started to like you.
Maynard, you're kind to me but u know it's not because it's called "something jazz" or whatever that it sounds that good.
Stop smoking bad ganja my dude and please go hear something incredible there, something that we use to call jazz, just jazz pure jazz simply jazz or... music if you prefer !
Type: "Cantelope Island One Night With Blue Note" and tell me :)

Damn, that's good stuff. Great energy, very raw. Hits you right between the shoulders! Seven and a half minutes, and I can't help but pay attention to each one.
That's Edouard Labor on flute, according to the liner notes, so I'm not sure why Herbie Mann is included in the YouTube title. Still, nice track - I chill to the CD every now and again.
