FYI: I didn't own an old ATAT but have played with one. It wasn't as extensive as this one; while the side could indeed open up (and be used for figures) its main use was to put your hand in after which you could control the head from there. So; moving it up/down and sideways with the lasersounds. But none of the extra's you've been showing.
