The man probably did that because the calf took too long to come out and you can also see the calf moving while the female giraffe was giving birth birth. But if he did that as soon as the giaffe started giving birth, thats a bit of a problem becuase giving birth to a giraffe takes lots of time, probably 2 and a half hours.

Nothing like a human being to interfere with Mother Nature. The guy's lucky he didn't get a good kick in the face or better yet, privates! As far as his question at the end, "What do I do now?", my answer is, "absolutely NOTHING!!!" Let the newborn come around on its own.
