  • a drill that will do good for your game is drawing and shooting the next shot from where you left the white... see how many draw shots you can get in position and shots you can make consecutively, great drill, it will do well for your game, this is just practicing a draw but like they say, Draw for show, follow for dough

  • excellent Tom!

  • Very impressive. I like how genuine you are. What shaft are you using by the way. I am in the market for a Predator Z2 shaft to acheive more draw. I still need a lot of work on my follow through, but my current cue can only get so low on the ball before the ball starts to up (up the shaft). I have also heard something about twisting the stick as you apply draw to take the hold off the ball. is there any truth to this? I recently just lost at the LTC and realize i need to get better. trying.

  • I use a Viking VX10 19.5 oz with a LePro Medium hard tip 13mm. The shaft is the one that came on the Viking and is made of hard rock maple. I sent it in to Viking and had a duplicate made so I don't have to worry about losing a tip durning a tournament or any important match.

The Viking VX10 with the original shaft and LePro Medium Hard tip give me a nice solid hit and a sort of thud sound.

If you like the low deflection shafts like Predators, Meucci or Player you would probaly not like mine

  • I realize that many demonstrations of the power draw shot are on the internet showing extreme draw that is more spectacular than my demo...but...most of them are only one shot.

What good are those shots if you can only do it once out of 5 or 10 attmepts for the camera.

I demonstrate a shot for the purpose of achieving position in a difficult situation where you MUST draw the cue ball back to a rail then have it rebound into a position as much as 1/2 table away.

    I make every shot un-edited!

  • this isn't a bad shot but i have done better draw shots.

  • try getting the same amount of draw from 2 or 3 times the distance from the object ball. that's what improves stroke in my opinion.

  • As a beginner, I've found that practicing basic draw when the object ball is 3 or 4 diamonds away has been a good way to groove my stroke, also those shots come in handy sometimes :)
