  • Don't lean that Jackson against a wall! Put it on a stand. Lol. The neck may warp from that after long-term.

  • @BestPonyIsSpitfire It's on a stand dude! Plus, it would hardly be left there long enough to warp haha

  • should i get an epiphone les paul special ii or this one??? pls reply

  • @TheRockIzBack

buy both. strat r easier to play and to hod rod (trem block etc)

  • @2009korte buy both??? not every one is rich like you ---____----

  • have u got the tabs for the thing u were playing on the clean demo?..is it a song??if it is whats the song?

  • guitar fetish has any thing you need to upgrade this exact guitar, cheap too

  • I have a Squier Affinity that I bought sight unseen on ebay and yes I agree it's pretty good. Looks and sounds like a strat. The only down side is the body is slightly thinner than standard strats so upgrading the tremolo block is harder to sort out....rather, it means leaving he cover on the back of the body off, so that the trem block sticks out a bit. I also have a Strat bullet I found in a shed!...and it's really great to play...and yes, I've owned a 70's USA strat too!

  • Why does it have all those little antennas on the top part there?

  • 1:35 You get a green thumb for the count :D

4:36 and for Dark EternaL nichT

  • Can someone tell me is this guitar good for power and heavy metal and is it durable? Thanks!

  • Great playing! Guitar sounds great, as well! I may go with one and modify it with DiMarzio Area (noiseless) pickups. Thanks for the lovely video! :-)

  • Best review of the guitar on Youtube! Bravo.... Fantastic job! I also fucking loved your Count of Tuscany solo! Beautifully played!

  • cut your fucking strings

  • i like how ppl dont cut the string leftover

  • @malagutial O ok that will help thanks

  • How do you get those tones??? I can only get clean tones!!!

  • @urbanlaxa27 Are you talking about the guitar or from the amp? The guitar just delivers this sound naturally. I've got no booster pedals or anything, I'm just using the simulated amps in the Behringer head, and it's an amp I really love, especially for the price. If you want to improve your tone from this guitar you could consider raising the pickup height to increase the output (but not too much), or buy a new amp or pedal!

  • I like reviews with a sound demo, but your guitar sounds better then the stock one because of the fender pickups, so just keep in mind that when you buy it it comes with standard ceramic pickups. If somebody is looking for a nice stock sound he should look for the Squier Classic Vibe.

  • @ATC15C Hmm, well the thing is that I never actually upgraded the pickups in this guitar. I only put that in the video because I was selling it to a bit of a guitar snob and wanted to see if he thought it sounded better if I told him it had better pickups, which he did! These are just the stock Squier ones and I think they actually produce a pretty good sound. I think it's interesting how easy it is to hear things good or bad depending on what you want to hear. Thanks for watching :)

  • @malagutial Yes, psychoacoustic... I belive that its not what the pickups are made of that make them special, bus the compinaison of resistance, impedance and magnetisim. So I hope you got a good price for it, your video is not bad!

  • @malagutial

Right Dude. I absolutely agree your point of view. I have an Affinity Strat too and it surprised me and a lot of other person many times. Great instrument for that price.

  • Great work fella!

  • Would you say the affinity has a "fat" neck?

  • @Lavabug In comparison to my Jackson, yes, but in comparison to a Les Paul, no. I find it very comfortable. I'd say it's just a simple C shape really. You should try my 8 string, now THAT is a fat neck :)

  • @malagutial what is the action of that guitar buddy? is it possible to lower the action with no buzz?

  • @Carthsgtr did i ask for your opinion?

  • @dixdan2000 technically you did. this is all open to the public... :P

  • Holy mother of FUCK you are a good guitarist *-*

  • @dixdan2000

No, he really isn't. You are an absolute wanker.

Not that he isn't very slick, but a holy fuck was certainly not in order.

  • @Carthsgtr Cool story is cool, bro

  • @Carthsgtr hmmmmm fuck you?

  • @Carthsgtr it was holy mother of fuck when your in the same room listening to him playing New canon rock

  • @osllo28 Thank you Louis :)

  • @dixdan2000 Thanks very much my friend! :)

  • wow pretty good

  • @malagutial were the original pick-ups good??

  • how much did it cost to change the pickups?

  • Were the original pickups good??

  • Great video!! I think I'm getting this guitar for x-mas and will be my 1st guitar. Hope I like it!

  • Nice blue guitar in the background. What is it?

  • @MrGuitarTuts It's a Jackson DK2 Eerie Dess Swirl, plays like an absolute machine!

  • @malagutial hey i got a question why do people keep there strings long like yours where u tune it thanks

  • @TheZombified316 I've answered this question too many times now.... So; 'The reason I left these untrimmed was because I had arranged to sell the guitar and I wanted to use a set of 10's for the video, but the person I was selling it to wanted 9's. So I thought rather than waste a good set of 10's that will just be removed from the guitar when it's sold, I'd string it with 10's but not trim them so I could take them off and put them on another guitar after the video.'

    Thanks for watching :)

  • @malagutial thanks so much ive actuaaly seen this alot i thought maybe it was a fender thing lol im a new guitar guy and are getting one for christmas merry christmas :)

  • @malagutial hey one more question does the one your using have sing coil pick ups or or a humbucker i want to play like guns n roses and metal like disturbed will it do good stock like no ad ons for these things?

  • a piece of crap guitar, 40.5mm wide at the nut, wtf is up with that, and the action straight from the factory is totally worthless, the only thing that would do this guitar right is a real adjustment that cost about 100 dollars and thats pretty much what the whole guitar is worth, wo i say it again, a total piece of crap

  • @gumme88 For £100 it plays better than any other guitar in it's price range, and there's no way your comments are fair. I own a USA Strat and don't like to admit it, but it's very similar to this guitar. Your prejudice is clearly built from a bad experience or a dislike for somebody else who owns this guitar.

You have one video uploaded which is of fishing. Your opinion is invalid.

P.S. If you don't know how to adjust the action of your guitar, you have no right to watch guitar related videos.

  • You're really good! nice video!

  • @CoDMW2freakNL Thanks very much!

  • for demo 2, what postion did u have ur switch in on the guitar>??

  • @iPuReSTaR1 Bridge position

  • What's the difference between an affinity strat and bullet strat?

  • The extra strings hanging out of the tuners is very dangerous!! Those strings could draw lighning during a storm or find their way into a wall socket or even poke your retina out! Please be safe

  • sounds like the '90s and i love it

  • very nice

  • i have the same squire could you please tell me would it be worth it to change the pickups or do i need the whole pickguard loaded? thanx man!

    cheers

  • Can you send me the tabs for Dark eternal night? please!!!

  • Loved the review cheers for that but I must say you've got to cut those end strings of it takes about 2cm of string to tune to standard from completely out of tune so yeah cut them of. :)

  • Very good demo........Were you 1. self taught and 2 was the guitar in standard tuning?........Could I hear some mattrach influence?

  • cut of your sting ends you doughhead

  • @hongdekong Buckethead doesn't

  • @hongdekong If you read a few comments down you'd see that I already say why I didn't cut the ends off the strings. I'm not an idiot, there was a fair reason for it and I normally do remove them. Thanks for watching anyway!

  • @malagutial tell him hhaha

  • @hongdekong it's not a locking tuner you dumbass

  • Wholy great mother of god. I have the same guitar and can't come close to the tunes u pulled off.

  • you pomies make can really talk! great review :D

  • I'm buying this for £164 with starter pack... Is this a good deal for the money?

  • @Carsonlad98 yes

  • hey, how much did this guitar cost?

  • Any thing would sound good going through that rack bro!

    Rock on!

  • good review mate, rock on!!

  • what amp are you using?

  • @metalchain2 I say towards the beginning of the video, it's a Behringer LX1200H through a Bugera 4x12

  • @malagutial sorry i only really wanted to hear the playing of the guitar so i skiped the talking

  • hi mate can you send me tab from song 1:43...i want learn it :)

  • @crysisman555 The song is called 'The Count of Tuscany' by Dream Theater. It's incredible, but 20 minutes long! Amazing band, my favourite, check them out if you haven't already. YouTube won't let me post links as comments but if you google search 'Count of Tuscany tab' you'll find one. Alternatively there's a great guitar pro tab if you have the software, search 'Count of Tuscany guitar pro tab' and download it. Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • @malagutial hey im thinking about buying a stratocaster but i have a question.. whats the difference between a fat stratocaster and a normal? and which one is better..

  • @nextpage10 a fat strat has a bridge humbucker and a normal strat has 3 single coils. Neither are better, they're just different. If you play hard rock or metal, the fat strat would be better.

  • strat or les paul?

  • @1995jsn depends on what youre playing. OR just your preference. I prefer LP's, but I also enjoy strats. Funny though, I own 2 strats and only 1 LP.

  • How much of a difference did the Fender pickups make? I'm looking to buy a new guitar, I'm still a relative beginner but I want a decent quaity guitar, I've been fooled in the past by apparent bargain beginner guitars- with the standard pickups is an Affinity Strat really that high a quality guitar?

  • I hope that You learn to trim the strings..before You put out an eye, otherwise Your playing is good, and thankyou for the vid!......poppa

  • @MrPoppa2 Haha, that's a fair point! The reason I left these untrimmed was because I had arranged to sell the guitar and I wanted to use a set of 10's for the video, but the person I was selling it to wanted 9's. So I thought rather than waste a good set of 10's that will just be removed from the guitar when it's sold, I'd string it with 10's but not trim them so I could take them off and put them on another guitar after the video. Thanks for the compliment too! And also the sub I think :)

  • should i get this or the HSS version with the humbucker pickup at the bridge?

    thanks

  • @1995jsn Well personally I think that almost the defining characteristic of a strat is it's single coil pickups... If you're going for an Superstrat I'd recommend looking at another brand first since you'll get a more developed guitar for your money. I think that if my Strat had a humbucker I would either put in a coil tap (which splits it into a single coil with switch) or I'd sell it. The characteristic tone of a strat comes from its bridge and neck single coil pickups in my opinion.

  • Everyone hates on Squier... I say that it's not really the instrument but the player, and you just proved that. In the right hands, even a cheap instrument will sound like hot shit.

  • Does it stay in tune?

  • @tlg71996 Yes, it does. Remarkably well too!

  • @malagutial what was the first song on clean mode

  • Can you record one video for Squier affiniti TELE?

Btw your such a great guitarist! PRO!

  • @BlocOutOvac I would but I don't own one or know somebody else who owns one... I'm sure there will be lots of other reviews but I'd like to do one. Until I can get my hands on one, subscribe to me so you'll be notified when we do a video :) It'll help me and my brother out too. Thanks for the compliment as well!

  • great review!

  • @w0083e5c Thanks very much! If you like this please check out my other videos as there are originals, covers and full band covers. Please help us out by subscribing :)

  • Good job mate!I have the HSS version of this guitar and I absolutely love it!I am also about to buy a fender do u recommend the special or the standard?

  • @subulion Thanks for the comment :) I recommend the standard if I'm honest. There are not enough differences in the guitar's build quality or performance to justify the higher cost of the special. I have a USA special now and I only bought it as the price was very good but had it been regular price then I'd have happily gone for the standard as the difference is tiny.

If you like this video check out my others, I have many more recordings better than this! :) Please help us out by subscribing :)

  • You'd make an excellent jam partner :) Your style and tone are great!

  • @RaspberryBuffalo Thanks very much man, that's a great comment :D

  • Im supposed to purchase this guitar in about a weeks time, and Im glad i found your vid! Very informative, and you played beautifully! But would you suggest this for a new guitar player looking to play metal?

  • @CK9041 As a strat it's best for rock/blues and although I think it handles high gain extremely well, if you're sure that you want to do metal then this guitar is probably not for you. If you're a new player I'd recommend not deciding 1 style so early, keep your options open and this is an amazing guitar all round. If you really want to only do metal then look at low end Jacksons or ESPs. Really, anything with a high output humbucker pickup will do metal quite well, depending on your amp.

    Alex

  • beautiful

  • @joshjoshMUSIC Thanks very much!

  • the bluesy part sounds horrible. But great playing and great review !!

  • @Baastou Yeah looking back I didn't set the tone up well at all... But it can sound a lot better than that :)

  • WOW dude, your such a great guitarist! :)

  • @Dshizznit69 Thanks very much! It means a lot that you think so :D Check out my other videos, I've just put a new one up, maybe subscribe if you like ;) Alex
