No disrespect. But you people seem to be the only race who try so hard to run away from your roots. We might say we are Irish, Italian, Russian, Czech, Croatian, etc. But we still acknowledge we come from a White/European race. You all (in an attempt to seem exotic & special) always try to distance yourself from your African/Black blood. Why?When you all start loving your Black blood you will start to see a change in the attitude of fashion, modeling, and the world in general.
every video of a black women with a kind of dark complexion people theirs always bullshit about complexion not even race but complexion and its tiring and feeding those ignorant people the attention they want, we should all know by now natural beauty everyone possess, commerical beauty is another thing.
I agree. Most models whom are black seem to do better in their career if they have lighter skin or are mixed race etc. OR they are, as i like to call them "a white girl dipped in chocolate" in other words, they are black but they have the white features such as the nose, lips etc.
UM i like bow they tried to just skip over the fact that she is black to (african-american) they said " iam dominican and portugese). its like yur exoticness is never attributed tu yur blackness. but she does seem super cool and is extremely beautiful. i dont think she looks ethiopian at all. maybe a lil somalian, becuz of the complexion but thats all
I love this girl ! she is so honest and smart. 1 thing I will say thank G-d being black is no longer viewed as ugly or dim... being black is beautiful come on chocolate color and a hot body. 1 thing I would like to advice Sessilee yes you ar e black 100%% eventhough your parents are from the caribbean but you are we are black.
Agree totally with what Sessilee said about traveling and getting out there. If you stay in the same place all the time, you just stay simple minded. Traveling and getting out makes you cultured and worldly. This may sound stupid but she is so right about that.
People of darker skin are beautiful. Just because society doesnt portray dark skin women alot in the media does not mean that they should feel unattractive.quite frankly she is beautiful and i would love see more people of color in the fashion industry. QUESTION?? Is it just me or does anyone notice how most models, whom are black, do well in their career only if they are mixed with another race and/or have lighter skin?
@yonnaj05 It's because mixing between any 2 races usually results in better looking offsprings, that's a fact. It's because this way the child receives the best of both genes from the parents as opposed to random selection. Ever noticed how mixed people are usually good looking? So there, it's not because the fashion or modeling industries are prejudice it's just that naturally they're usually better looking and coincidentally that's exactly what the modeling industries are looking for.
" It's because mixing between any 2 races usually results in better looking offsprings, that's a fact".
I am curious to know what exactly is your education level. Because your statement seems to be more of an opinion than a "fact". What school/college taught you that a statement as arbitrary as this one would be an example of a "fact"? I must have missed something.
If you did attend college, please give me the name. That way I can start a campaign to have it's accreditation pulled.
@yonnaj05 how? naomi? and plus many more who arent has big but have appeared on most catwalks for designers and everyone has different ethnic background. grace jones? i hate people putting their self worth on what the media thinks of them or not at all.
she's Black point blanc it doesn't matter what part of the country her parents come from or what not doesn't change Blackness that she is overall. That is what black is. Black is Black
people are confusing race/ethnicity with nationalities/country of origin here my god
alot of black people in America are mixed with other races, whether a little or a lot. U can usually tell the difference between an afro- American and a south african. ppl usually say as long as u got a little blck in u, ur considered black.
Please tell me what makes her less black than Tyra or Chanel. LOL Because all of my history textbooks state that the majority of African slaves were taken to Latin America, not the United States.

No, I think by saying she was not black, she was not acting like a stereotypical black woman in the united states. But she is latina black which is a whole different thing, Tyra, Chanel, and Naomi have theyre own type of Black they're unique they come from different backgrounds.

She is different because she has a latino background, I don't think you quite understand. no bad feelings though, we both like this "Latina Black", lol.
Race & Ethnicity are 2 totally different things.

There is not funny about looking Somalian. They are stunning people and consider that a major compliment. She is edgy and love seeing model pictures
