Yea Pixies are really awesome but Nirvana where influenced by a lot of stuff ranging through hardcore punk to stuff like Sonic Youth. A lot of it now is more about appearances and trivial things and too few bands actually just rock out. Its too hard to find a band that just plugs in guitars, steps on a distortion pedal and can make great music. I'm not saying indie is bad, musically but it just isn't rock anymore. :/
