  • Very beautiful song, but I thought I was gonna the singers of the song instead of hear the music.

  • This song is the Native Sisterhood song that was made and came out of The Prison For Woman in Kingston Ontario Canada. The song was made by the Sisterhood that was the one and true and first Sisterhood EVER, thus the name NATIVE SISTERHOOD. The originel woman who made and created this song, died behind the walls there. Give respect as to where this song comes from.

    Yvonne Johnson.

  • This sounds great, is there anyway for me to download the song and video. I'm developing a play with some youth right now, and they want to use the strong woman song in it, I think it would be very powerful to project your video behind them singing it, and for them to have the support of your voice.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I gave my presentation on violence against Indigenous women yesterday and it was a great success, many people in my audience were not aware about the proportions of the issue. Many of them were very emotional when they heard your song at the end of the presentation.

Thank you so much for sharing.

  • Thanks for sharing, there are no words for this song. It is a healing song for women. The song was made in Kingston which is a maximum security prison to help the women regain their strength as a women and reclaim their sense of spirituality and healing. I am happy that you are listening to my songs, they are here for all of you to learn, MIIGWITCH!!!! EKOSI!!!!

  • I do not know if this was an older healing song that was brought to the women there, but they say it was transformed there. It is said that the women were in a sweat lodge ceremony, and the guards tried to break it up. They brought vicious attack dogs and ordered the women out. The women came out, and standing naked, sang this song. The dogs went limp. The guards, confused, not knowing what they faced or what to do, retreated. The women returned to ceremony. The Strong Women Song was born! Aho!
