I have to do something simular for school as a 2 persons project

We got a robotarm of velleman, and we'll have to remove the romotecontrol that has an wire, and replace the input by an Infa-Red remote control (A remotecontrol of an Television)

And later we have to set up an other 1 controlled by Radiosignals

Got any hints for me and my frend, cus were going to be the first to set it up for years, and the teacher is an real idiot

pneumatics components are much faster and much stronger for joints like the elbow, on a setup like that, I would have motors turning the base, turning the wrist, and running a pump, the rest would be pneumatics, in fact I'm doing that exactly right now, ill video response when its done (likely never, but its a pet project)

thats a pretty well articulated arm and it looks fairly balanced, that is, it can hold up its own weight. But if you ever wanted to lift heavier objects, you will need a heavy counter balance at the back of the arm, otherwise it will topple over (center of gravity shifted will shift too far). Now if you wanted to lift REALLY heavy objects, you will need to use powerful servo motors not regular Lego motors (which can still be integrated easily).
