@timmbos I'm very pleased with my cutouts. They still seal very good. I'm suprised I haven't worn the motors out on them as much as I open and close them. It should sound great as well.
You would pick up a TON by going to a 26x10.50. I went 8.04 when my car had intake, exhaust, 4.10, and 26x10s and stock fronts. I recently put 28s on my car with a 4.10, and I have a built motor and spr stage 3 cams. The 28s are still bogging the heck out of me. 26s will be back on it ASAP.
I absolutely agree. The only reason I have 28s is because I got a great deal on them used. I wanted to see how my car would react on slicks before I spent the money on a new set. I want to try a set of 26s soon to see if I can get some daylight under the front left!
@davesike I removed the back oxygen sensors and had them deleted in the tune. The front oxygen sensors are before the cutouts, we did a dyno with the cutouts open and the a/f ratio wasn't affected. Not a dumb question at all. Thanks for watching!
@davesike thanks..i put mine in other day..taking it to local tuner joint to do some runs with the cutouts opened n closed to see if the ratios r ok..u can check out the sounds on my videos if u like..lemme know what u think..thanks
@dean12692 It has the Comp Thumpr 2 cams. MAC long tube headers, no cats, MAC prochamber. But the cutouts, of course, are before the prochamber about a foot off of the headers and they are QTP electric cutouts. I'm running a Spec 2 clutch and a 3650Plus transmission from American Powertrain, Dynotech 1 piece aluminum driveshaft with 4.10 gears and a Eaton trutrac. I have ran a 7.96 since this pass.
@kevshit Well, if you just want it to lope, you would need to change the cams. But there are other things you would need to change as well in order to get the benefit of the cams. And to make it sound good you would need some good exhaust on it. Just depends on what you are wanting out of your engine.
My 60' time that pass was 1.70. I have just about every other bolt on you could think of. I have the MAC long tube headers with electric cutouts. They was open then of course. I have a MSD two step. 4.10 gears. C&L intake. BB&K throttle body. C&L racer cold air. Since this video, I installed a Spec 2 clutch and one piece aluminum driveshaft and ran a 8.01 with a slower 60' time of 1.77. It had started spinning those slicks.
Hey what are your mods, 60' time, and dyno numbers? I'm running same cams so interested what other mods you have compared to me. I had a few 8.0s and 7.99 this last year on drag radials but might be looking to go to same tire setup you have.
Great sounding s197! Got one that sounds just lke it

Nice car man! I went 8.11 at 87.5 with a 1.77 short time. My car has Intake,tune,header-back with 26x10x16 E/T Streets. Sounds sweet! :thumb:
