@wolfkingewan Never played these you mentioned, but i think Dark Messiah came first, so...

About the bow and arrow, there's not class restrition for it, In fact there are no classes, only 3 skill trees that you can combine as you please. But i think the bow skills would be in the thief skill tree.

@DjElstar25 Well, it depends on your gameplay. Mages at the beggining will have lots of tough challenges, but will also give you the funniest stories to tell later. But they also have some pretty singular interactions with the environment. For example, if your enemy is on water, you can cast a lightning spell anywhere on the water surface and he will get the damage. You can also place freeze spells on the floor surface, and when the enemy passes over it, he'll slip away.

@dazza628 Honestly, it's been around two, three years since i last played this game, so i can't remember the name either, but it's probably only in the xbox version. There were quite a few differences on the PC and video game versions.

@MrLino It's called the Weaken spell, and when your adrenaline is full (pc version) it will permanently shrink your enemy.

@dazza628 you need to have the weaken spell, it weakens them normally but if you have adrenaline activated, it shrinks them permanately, but this s only from pc experience, hope this helps

I'm sorry, but i have to agree with BackMaH. If you compare Dark Messiah to any of those Old School games, like the first 2 fallout or any Zelda, por example, the game is quite short. But if we compare to games nowadays, then yes, it is considerably big.

Personally i think Singleplayer got one of the best stories ever! I love everything about it! But after you complete it once its the most boring game.. Multiplayer is my favorite game. Best game i ever tried. So im still playing it :) Im Frozen ingame

I replayed this game again today and realised, I never get tired of kicking Necromancers off cliffs. Seriously, I played HL2 afterwards and found myself reallymissing that 'kick' button, by far my favourite button in Dark Messiah

Nope, this is the offline version of the game. There is, in fact, a online version, but it is quite different from this one. you choose one class and then go leveling with it. But you don't keep the char forever, it lasts until the end of the maps. When they finish, you get back to lv 1.

Um.. no, this game's gameplay is far more inferior than oblivion's. you can't travel as you wish, you have to complete the "levels" in order to go to the next level and so on. Still, i recommend. It's a really interesting game with interesting features.

Any game that runs in XP also runs in Vista. Worst case scenario, you'll have to go into properties and set it to "Windows XP Compatibility Mode."

Class specialisation hardly comes into play anyway. If you're using daggers you still need strength for extra damage just like a mage could do with added endurance for additional health.

Actually, on the pc version they aren't exactly classes. You may invest on any skill you like. You can use daggers and cast fireballs, or do something like a jedi (sword and telekinesis), it's up to you.

Yup, you can make all kinds of classes, as long as you got enough skills points.

Like.. stealthy mage or a battle mage.

I mainly use to be a warrior as its fun just charging into the battle and go rampage :P

Entirely wrong, osolote.

You get skillpoints at certain places which you can assign to any skill you want.

So you can go put some points in the sneak skill, some in the archery.

The possiblites are quite many... except in the dumb Xbox 360 version where you choose a class... "I are big warrior, I can only use swords."

Short version: PC version good, Xbox version bad.

no, you can't choose to be an assassin, you create the character as you wish. if you think you should cast spells and backstab people, distribute the points.

Yes, there is a multiplayer option, but it's completely different to the single player if you ask me. While in sngle player you create you own character, in the multiplayer you have to choose a class and fight the undead (or the human, if you are undead). You have to conquer territories or kill all the enemies to win the multiplayer game.

True, warrior with selfheal is the best in my opinion too. Altough i recommend warriors for begginers, mages for intermediates and assassins for experts, i think the warrior is the fastest way to complete the game, expert or no expert.

well, if it's worth or not, it depends on you, but i do recommend buying it. And no, you don't get to choose your "class". You distribute your skills points as you wish. You an be a stealthy mage, or a magical warrior, that's up to you.

when you go get the points, you will see three skill trees: the "warrior" one, which has sword/bow skills, the magic skill tree and the stealth stuff skill tree. Then you distribute the points as you wish.

You earn points to buy skill with, it doesn't matter from which class. So you can be a mixture of each class, Mage, Warrior and Assasin or a pure one.

well i love the assassin....was the 1st class i played and there wasnt much i couldnt kill...it was no problem killing cyclopses as all i had to do was continuously shoot it in the eye from a range and cos my archery skill was up full it was realy easy to aim and faster to pull out arrows, BUT a recent class i made was a type of pallidin, had healing and shield spells aswel as good hp amount and strong mellee combat abilities, i belive that its the best way to go in this game to survive easily!!

Well..... it depends on what you consider short. Games nowadays are waaaaaay shorter than old-school games, that's because of the new graphics, and stuff like that. They have more work to do when working on this new games. So, if you compare to legends of dragoon, that has a few CDs to play, yes, it is short.

But comparing to newer games, like Half-Life 2, it is quite long.

I personally don't like the assassin so much. You have to be all stealthy and stuff. Backstabbing can get a lil' complicated as you go advancing the game. And you can "backstab" with a fireball or a sword aswell, if you know what i mean.
