@saurabhdelft I know about the history. I know we told Islamic people from all over to come to Afghanistan and gave then money with no oversight. But the Islamic people of that region molded the Taliban into the terrorist origination it is today. I don't agree with allot of things my country does, ESPECIALLY when it's motivated by religion.

Even an american general visited the survivors of the attack and told them how sad he feels for them and that no american troops ordered that attack!?? Granted, achieving sovereignty by self-liberation is a sweet endeavor. but it doesn't mean the afghans have to be given a slimmer chance to realize it, especially with the Taliban, who's tenacity and downright ruthlessness are their hallmarks. With the UN-mandated Nato, bound to an extent by international law and accountability in the world's eyes and scrutiny, they can do so without bloodshed, without fear.

As to your question, if i was american.. no probably not, though i can't say the same for others. More accurately, if my factional opposition, well funded and armed via external influence and contacts, were to invoked the ire of a powerful external power with whom i hold no animosity. i would be a fool not to seek an alliance especially if my survival hangs by a thread. As the saying goes, " the enemy of my enemy is my friend." As was the case for the northern alliance.

about.You say withdraw because we shouldn't be there, us being there gets innocents killed and eventual stability will come. Afghanistan was left to it's own devices once after the soviet-afghan war and it's continual instability and resulting tenure to extremists caused the global community and the afghans to pay for it years later through our apathy and indulgence.
