  • Bel lavoro!

  • Hurra, a van Eyck animation! Being a passable hobby recorder player, I love van Eyck's pieces. The sibelius recorder might be a bit shrill, but it is great to see and hear this nonetheless. Thanks for uploading!

  • omg my ears hurts!!!!...damn!!!! why?

  • I do not think this is boring, rather, quite the opposite actually

  • I think im gonna cry tears of happyness. ):

  • This had to be the one song you didn't add a download link. Its a beautiful song.

  • This is beautiful!

  • hey... why don'y you share the software you use for this videos???

I know there is a link in the FAQ but that software it's just... very simple. PLEASE!!

  • @vanchoXD I am currently engaged in a business venture which will bring a "pro" version of this software to the market. If all goes well, this software will be available in a year or so.

  • ITS LIKE A MERRY GO ROUND !!!!!!!!!!!

  • isn't this a diploma standard piece?

  • Wasn't this composed by John Dowland?

  • @polymath7 Dowland composed the melody and wrote many settings of it, but lots of other composers wrote their own versions, too.

  • @polymath7 That seemed the logical supposition but, though I've not listened to Dowland's version very recently (or many times) as best I can remember it this sounds melodically identical.

Time for another hearing, I guess.

  • @polymath7 The theme will be nearly identical, for sure; the variations won't.

  • @polymath7 Dowland's melody, but certainly not identical. I've got this pavane engraved on my brain from many performances -- this melodic incarnation has contour changes and cadence stylings that are a bit later, comfortably early baroque, and the imitative stuff later is clearly not Dowland's either.

Neat! I didn't know it existed.

  • I think will do well to help the young children to whom this video is directed towards understand how your videos work. I like how it starts off incredibly simple and gets steadily more complex as it goes. I fear that it may get too complex too quickly for them to catch on easily, but I'm sure it'll definitely be better than a concerto, eh? :P

As usual, good work, Mr. Malinowski!

  • I would imagine this would be exhausting. That's a long time to play a wind instrument.

  • @Jaydoggy531 Not really --- it's just a soprano recorder, after all. Watch Frans Bruggen play it (there's a link in the FAQ). You'll see he's not working especially hard.

  • Warning: Do not attempt to watch this video under the influence of "la brume pourpre", it will mess with your mind.

  • I still say that you should try, if possible, in a more complex song, to illustrate dynamic shifts.

  • Very nice video after I read about why you used a simple song!! Teach them youngins gooderer!

  • It's very relaxing :3

  • ok... this one was... loco

  • I love it, and your FAQs As well. :-) 'night !

  • This is boring. ;)

  • this somehow sounds magical and ancient and mysterious and interesting to me=)

  • untill ilooked at the discription i could swear there were real persons plaing the flute.

  • Thumbed up for the Q&A "Q. This is boring. A. If you say so."

  • What is your musical background?

  • I live your Q and A's lol

    "Q: This is boring.

    A: If you say so."

I must say this sounded very medieval. Back when the recorder was played outside of elementary music class :P

  • @Hazelrat10 I agree; the orange notes make it medieval for me.

  • Baautiful.

It may look wonderful, too, if a TRIANGULAR SHAPE could be used instead of a RECTANGULAR SHAPE, in order to espress the fading of a musical note.

    Or not?

If I knew the software, I would try and keep the best form!

Where can I buy that beautiful software?

Is it difficult to use or learn?

Anyway, your musical visualitazions are just so beautiful!!!!

What a nice job you have done!

  • I still like the original plain bars.

  • I agree, the large bars got a bit cluttered.

But the glowing bars did help create a foreground and background.

  • I think the new giant bars are obtrusive

  • @snipersEND i think they capture the high pitch really well

  • @snipersEND I like the giant bars
