Hurra, a van Eyck animation! Being a passable hobby recorder player, I love van Eyck's pieces. The sibelius recorder might be a bit shrill, but it is great to see and hear this nonetheless. Thanks for uploading!

@polymath7 Dowland composed the melody and wrote many settings of it, but lots of other composers wrote their own versions, too.

@polymath7 That seemed the logical supposition but, though I've not listened to Dowland's version very recently (or many times) as best I can remember it this sounds melodically identical.

@polymath7 Dowland's melody, but certainly not identical. I've got this pavane engraved on my brain from many performances -- this melodic incarnation has contour changes and cadence stylings that are a bit later, comfortably early baroque, and the imitative stuff later is clearly not Dowland's either.

I think will do well to help the young children to whom this video is directed towards understand how your videos work. I like how it starts off incredibly simple and gets steadily more complex as it goes. I fear that it may get too complex too quickly for them to catch on easily, but I'm sure it'll definitely be better than a concerto, eh? :P
