  • My buddy told me about your videos an man I gotta hand it to ya! These are some sweet looking flies! I'm a salt water guy, live in Florida. But just watching this makes me wanna go an try to make some crazy look redfish flies or some insane tarpon flies ha. Keep up the good work!! You got my subscription

  • yes sir im a teenager and i mimicked this fly and i can make consistent 25 yard casts unless the wind is blowing in my face

  • Nice fly!

  • do you ever use bucktail???

    like with a tandem hook?

  • No, bucktail is so old fashioned, to dull and the hairs will break. Why use materials that lead to a fly falling apart after a few fish?

  • Actually someone can use a 6-8 weight rod for smaller saltwater species such as weakfish, reds, stripers, etc.

An 11 or 12 weight fly rod is usually too small to land a bill fish. Most people I know cast a 12-13 weight for sailfish, marlin etc.

  • slatwater tandem flies useful rod for that maybe between class 11 or 12
