God loves you, and whoever believes that Jesus Christ the Son of God died for their sins, was buried and rose again will have eternal life in Heaven. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,” - Acts 16:31 Jesus Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” - John 6:47
Weed is an illegal plant but coconut trees are fine....COCONUTS kill hundreds of ppl every year. How bout you dumb fuck politicians go after Coconut smugglers!
raggae and weed go hand in hand. doesnt mean you need to smoke it. Its peaceful music. make your own decisions. But for me im gonna spark that shit til i die
@CpTexasNinja no1 forces u to smoke and Reggae music is and will always have weed involved in it. its either involved in the lyrics, the artist, or the people that listen. no matter what its there
@TheStallion123123123 Did God not create weed in the first place? Or are we gonna blame it on Satan again? Seriously, what does it matter if weed is 'a part of reggae'. It's not. Reggae is MUSIC. Just like rock, pop, whatever. Those who listen to it MIGHT smoke weed, so? Who are we to judge? Anyway. I love this song. That's what I came here for in the first place.
If someone asked me about a year ago if I would ever like reggae, I would have sternly answered no then given u a glare. Well, now I can't stop listening to this guy's songs!!!!!! He made reggae so you it doesn't matter ur race, religion, or if you smoke pot or not. You just need to believe in the lyrics
Cannabis is a sacrament that cleans the body and mind, heals the soul, exalts the consciousness, facilitates peacefulness, brings pleasure, and brings us closer to Jah.
lets all just rejoice to the sound of good music.. doesn't matter if he's jewish or christian, muslim etc. just let's be glad there's good music like this to lift us from our sorrows and problems and take us to a place of peace...
@HUkram1025 people who have a problem w/ weed need to be put in jail..because of them people across the nation are hooked an dying from oxycotin an zanex. Ive lost 2 friends to over doses from pain pills ive lost 0 from smoking weed. yall can smoke weed, matisyahu's religon is mostl likely wrong, i havent smoked for an entire year and still have not found one reason not to smoke, he may be wise, but hes not the wisest
im not jewish but i love matisyahu because his music has morals...and he is adorable. hassidic jewish guys are adorable because they have morals and face hair.
@2ndSonStudio actually u can find peace by retreating from reality. its not about finding peace wthin the world but to find it within yourself. and no1 said that this song is about weed
This is so much more than just Reggae. Reggae is structured around redundancy, and it bears so much intragenre similarity throughout its range. This transcends the genre, and in so doing, becomes not only more available to a broader audience, but it feels less contrived. Its beautiful. I wish Matisyahu would put out another album, but I suppose these things can't be forced. I've been listening to the same songs for so long, yet they're still so powerful. And I'm not religious... Thanks M.

The land has been declared as agricultural, which prohibits residents from constructing structures of any kind, especially cisterns. However under another law, if the land is not used for three years, it reverts to Israel... Matisyahu keep sing ya fuckry people know what you devils are doing to other people...
@Rastinny Take your politics and racist comments elsewhere, your hate for what others do is so strong (with good reason) that you are no longer able to seperate your politics from what the rest of us get from this music.
@erolegario But I do not consider the physiological differences between humans sufficient to justify a racial classification so may be you can quote which part of my post made you think it could be qualified as racist. Look the racist, antisemitist and terrorist label Zionist generally slap on every one that criticizes their crimes is wearing out... Its laboured... its tired. Maybe ye should be coming up with something else? lol
@erolegario you are right: I hate the displacement and oppression of people just as much as the music that tries to conceal it. Reggae has as little to do with Zionism as Zionism has to do with Judaism. I've been listening to and playing Reggae for more that 30 years and indeed now and then you hear people who blow in and abuse this beautiful music to spread propaganda or to trivialize injustice, murder and displacement. Here is another vile example.
@erolegario There is a tradition in Reggae that has made Buju call it the voice of the poor (womb)man. Most Reggae I listen to is made by poor oppressed people in places like Jamaica, Virgin Islands, Trini, UK or Ireland. Here is a Zionist Jew from New York spreading his message of Zionist opression with a reggae / hip hop flavour transforming it into a tool of oppression. Its sad but I see people lapping it up. Bob said you can fool some people some times...but not everyone.
@Rastinny I couldn't agree with you more, but people will attack you with "anti-antisemitism" and racism because the Zionists have waged such a potent campaign through the media using guilt over history that any type of criticism is immediately shut down and off the table.
Zionism was, until recently, a fringe movement, and many mainstream Jews considered it madness, but due to so many factors it has taken over.
Anyway, I can't stand this guy on so many levels, even musically. His message..
@matero30 True In Florida they call people who give food to homeless people 'food terrorist'. A few months ago some brave people from all over the world organised a flotilla to break the siege of Gaza with humanitarian Aid. They called them terrorist. People who fought Apartheid in South Africa were called Terrorist. My own fore parents used to kill the Dutch slave masters who tortured thousands of Africans to death were also terrorist. I hope my son grows up to be a terrorist...
@Rastinny ..his message supports injustice but is seen as positive just because he's Jewish, and his "Jamaican" sounds idiotic.
Ask yourselves, if this is reggae music, why are the people Reggae truly comes from never in the audience. You will call this a racist comment because it mentions race, but look into the crowd. How many Caribbean people do you see? Not one? That's some measure of his relevance.
There have been white rappers who genuinely grew up in the black community and always had ..
@matero30 I find his message beautiful. He found God through Judaism and wants to spread his message of spirituality through reggae, a music he related too as a teenager and he feels spreads love and peace. Do there have to be Jamaicans in the crowd for this to be "Reggae"? He's reaching a population that may have not explored reggae or spirituality previously! I'm curious how you feel his message supports injustice?
@matero30 Maybe it is because Jamaicans who have their own history of colonization and oppression understand Matisyahu's concealed message for what it really is: a clever attempt at justification of the continued illegal occupation of parts of Palestine and the displacement and oppression of Palestinian people. The more people become more educated, the more they view the Israeli State for what it really is. You can't hide the truth under the carpet, can't sweep the sun off your porch - Max Romeo
@Rastinny But its true Matisyahu continues singing his fuckry At the same time I think there is enough good Reggae music with a more critical and to me interesting contend around. Bands like Midnite, Culture, Burning Spear, Groundation, Abyssinians I think are/were more credible examples of Reggae music and I just can't see how people that live the culture of Reggae music can marry it with the horror of Zionist Apartheid and oppression. Most know Matisyahu as Mark Regev on a hip hop beat...
@Rastinny ...black fans, such as MC Serch. They always gave credit to the black community and had a black DJ, black fans, and were part of the community whose experience hip hop chronicles.
Matisyahu, however, has nothing to do with the Reggae experience. Look around.
I love all of these down to earth people up and down the comment list. So much more can be achieved in life when anger and revenge isnt a factor of life. Peace and Respect for All, from America.
@mpvolbrecht I don't think I would be considered old enough to be able understand these kind of things, still, I do. It's not because they're 10 year olds; It's because they've been educated to like Justin Bieber, through many ways. U.S. kids just need better education and less exposion to destructive media. (not just U.S, of course, we could all do without it).
