Obviously labelling the video a 'eulogy' is misleading. However, criticizing Letterman is ridiculous. He wasn't obligated to make a comment. He gave his best wishes to the family and it was a nice thing to do. If you watch previous videos of Siskel's appearances on Letterman he thanks Dave for sending him a book with a nice note whilst he was sick and also for calling him up numerous times.

@UltraGokin I think he was upset and handling the announcement of his death the best he could.

His sentences got kind of staccato towards the end there, and he didn’t seem to know what to do with his hands. He dropped his pencil, made a waving gesture, adjusted his coat, and picked up his coffee mug only to set it right back down, all in the course of a few seconds.

It looked to me like he was genuinely shaken-up and really uncomfortable with the news of Siskel’s passing.
