Does anyone know when they're going to be adding the latest LRO data to Google Earth/Moon? I'm on Google Earth 6 right now, and the poles are still fragmented and featureless.
Has anyone seen that movie where Kissinger, Rumsfeld, and Haig all talk about Nixon wanted to stage a Moon Landing in a studio in case it was a failure in real life? The whole movie they are all serious about the subject, then at the end of the movie they are all laughing, like they were just kidding, and ha ha we fooled you conspiracy nuts. When devils like them take the time to make a movie like that, you better believe they are not kidding! They are not, they did fake it!
@lowpricedpaint The movie you are referring to, "Dark Side of the Moon", is a MOCKumentary. They never took time to make that movie. The producers just used clips of interviews with them out of context to make it look like they were saying it was a hoax. Give me the right clips, and I could make it look like Big Bird was in on it.
It makes fun of all the people who claim man never went to the moon. And it does so quite brilliantly, given the number of people who think it's real.

He independently detected radio transmissions from the Apollo 11 astronauts on the lunar surface. In 1969-1972 during the Apollo moon landings my uncle used a radio telescope to monitor all radio frequencies coming from all of the 6 landing sites on the moon during all 6 manned lunar missions. @datzfast Well just like we can intercept transmissions from satellites (thus proving they exist). You could also intercept radio transmissions from the lunar surface if there was a mission there, which is what my Uncle and his colleagues did in the late 60's and early 70's. How do you think the astronauts communicated with mission control, with simple radio waves. It was simple communication technology, accessible to anyone with a receiver from a radio shack (also why the audio is so grainy).

First, the Hubble telescope can't be directed to the moon because the instruments would be fried. The telescope is made to pick up very faint objects and something as bright as the moon would damage the detectors.
@datzfast Yes, they would, they were built to view the Earth, and therefore their telescopes and lenses would not be able to input the intense light from the moon.
Telescope's sensitivity is determined by how large the mirror is. A larger mirror can distinguish smaller angular separations. Even though the things left on the moon are large, the moon is far away, so those things look very small. Hubble is not far above the earth, so it isn't significantly closer to the moon than Earth. For the size of telescope and the distance to the moon, the smallest things Hubble could pick up is a football field. So it couldn't see the lunar modules anyway. Okay?
Third, there are much more important things to do with the telescope than to convince a bunch of conspiracy nuts that there was a moon landing. NASA *knows* there was a moons landing. Also, any pictures taken of the landing sites would be declared fake by the nuts anyway. So what's the point?

Doesn't work that way. Hubble's angular resolution isn't fine enough for that. Yes, Hubble captures amazing images of very large objects very far away. Small objects (ie the base of the lunar lander), not so much.
@kaderoder I think the word you're looking for is "expected". It should be expected, because Hubble wasn't designed for that in the first place. Hubble was never meant to look at the nearby, but the very distant. It's like trying to get a good picture of a flower using a telephoto lens. Do a little research, then comment. It's really not that difficult.

That said, the point still stands. You're asking Hubble to do something it a) wasn't intended to do, b) wasn't designed to do, c) wasn't built to do, and d) is physically incapable of doing. Go google Van Allen belts and see for yourself. None of todays space shuttles EVER flew above 400 miles from earth! When they tried to go further the solar flares became so intense that they could see shooting bright lights with their eyes closed INSIDE TODAYS SPACE SHUTTLES! Not some tin foil peace of 1969 garbage.. educate yourself for god sake.. it was a very expensive movie but did help to resolve a number of political problems at that time.

The level of lack of understanding of science in this world is scary. Anyone with a radio could track Sputnik crossing overhead. Com satellites were being put into orbbit. Hundreds of thousands of people witnessed the Apollo launches. There had been tens of previous flights in orbit that carried out all of the tasks required. The Russions never claimed the moon landings were fake, which you know they would have if they could have proven it. It's just a bunch of conspiracy theory silliness.
Of course, the USA and USSR were continually spying on each other, if this would have been fake surely the Russians would have spoken out. I am in total doubt about the official story on 9/11, but to claim that the Moonlandings are fake is just unrealistic, since there is already sattelite imagery of the landing sites wich shows the remaining human artefacts.
@TheJomogogo The moons is only 384,403 km away ,if u have a good home telescope u can see some of the trace the humans left there (no specific detail or anything but traces ) like the mirrors used to know the moon wiggles.(once again just like dim blinking lights )
@maxpowerule you can see it with a home telescope:) You need a huge laser and a detector to find light from retroreflector. And the Lunar Reconasainse orbiter and another probe from JAXA are the only probes who have photographed the remains of the human exploration:)
Because the high resolution images you get of houses cars etc on earth come from expensive satellites launched in the past 10 years or so. As earths inhabited by humans with money there's a market for it and the satellites were launched, as the moon is uninhabited there's no market for it and therefore no satellites.

Truly if the moon landing really was a conspiracy, what makes you think satellites aren't? What proof do you have that satellites even exist, I never saw one up close... what evidence is there?

@datzfast Well just like we can intercept transmissions from satellites (thus proving they exist). You could also intercept radio transmissions from the lunar surface if there was a mission there, which is what my Uncle and his colleagues did in the late 60's and early 70's. How do you think the astronauts communicated with mission control, with simple radio waves. It was simple communication technology, accessible to anyone with a receiver from a radio shack (also why the audio is so grainy).

POINT FUCKING HUBBLE AT THE FUCKING MOON.
No, we can go there, but we cant look at it with hubble. Bullshit. Didnt they leave a fucking car up there? We should be able to see that shit. I can count the shrubs in my backyard on Google-earth forphucksake but with all their technology they cant see through unobstructed space to the fucking moon? What lies between Hubble and the Moon that stops us from seeing? Nothing, not even an atmosphere. BASTARDS :o)

There are several different reasons.
First, the Hubble telescope can't be directed to the moon because the instruments would be fried. The telescope is made to pick up very faint objects and something as bright as the moon would damage the detectors.

Telescope's sensitivity is determined by how large the mirror is. A larger mirror can distinguish smaller angular separations. Even though the things left on the moon are large, the moon is far away, so those things look very small. Hubble is not far above the earth, so it isn't significantly closer to the moon than Earth. For the size of telescope and the distance to the moon, the smallest things Hubble could pick up is a football field. So it couldn't see the lunar modules anyway. Okay?

Doesn't work that way. Hubble's angular resolution isn't fine enough for that. Yes, Hubble captures amazing images of very large objects very far away. Small objects (ie the base of the lunar lander), not so much.

@kaderoder I think the word you're looking for is "expected". It should be expected, because Hubble wasn't designed for that in the first place. Hubble was never meant to look at the nearby, but the very distant. It's like trying to get a good picture of a flower using a telephoto lens. Do a little research, then comment. It's really not that difficult.

Go google Van Allen belts and see for yourself. None of todays space shuttles EVER flew above 400 miles from earth! When they tried to go further the solar flares became so intense that they could see shooting bright lights with their eyes closed INSIDE TODAYS SPACE SHUTTLES! Not some tin foil peace of 1969 garbage.. educate yourself for god sake.. it was a very expensive movie but did help to resolve a number of political problems at that time.

Third of all, it was the support beams failing, which made noise that was mistaken to be explosions. Finally, a fully loaded, multi-ton 767 traveling at full speed is bound to take down any tower, no matter how well the tower was built.

The level of lack of understanding of science in this world is scary. Anyone with a radio could track Sputnik crossing overhead. Com satellites were being put into orbbit. Hundreds of thousands of people witnessed the Apollo launches. There had been tens of previous flights in orbit that carried out all of the tasks required. The Russions never claimed the moon landings were fake, which you know they would have if they could have proven it. It's just a bunch of conspiracy theory silliness.

I am in total doubt about the official story on 9/11, but to claim that the Moonlandings are fake is just unrealistic, since there is already sattelite imagery of the landing sites wich shows the remaining human artefacts.

@TheJomogogo The moons is only 384,403 km away ,if u have a good home telescope u can see some of the trace the humans left there (no specific detail or anything but traces ) like the mirrors used to know the moon wiggles.(once again just like dim blinking lights )

@maxpowerule you can see it with a home telescope:) You need a huge laser and a detector to find light from retroreflector. And the Lunar Reconasainse orbiter and another probe from JAXA are the only probes who have photographed the remains of the human exploration:)

Because the high resolution images you get of houses cars etc on earth come from expensive satellites launched in the past 10 years or so. As earths inhabited by humans with money there's a market for it and the satellites were launched, as the moon is uninhabited there's no market for it and therefore no satellites.
