Hi! My mom just got Bell's Palsy 5 days ago and she is going through a depression because she can't work and doesn't want to be seen. Can you tell me what kind of therapy and massages you did. did you get them done professionally or do them yoursefl? my mom started accupuncture but of course it was the first time and we can't see a difference. please let me know what you did to recover so fast. thanks so much!
I was just diagnosed 3 days ago & have been on Prednisone & Valtrex for 3 days. At first it was funny to me but today has been a bad day I have been feeling sorry for myself. I start acupuncture tomorrow and hope that it helps. I don't know how I will do tomorrow at work or school but I can't stay home and hide. Life goes on I guess. I don't want to be superficial and I know that it could be worse but it does suck having this disease. Thank you for been so brave & giving me hope. ;-/
Wow that was quick! I was diagnosed with BP on 11/02/11 so I just started this journey and am bummed out, it was good to see your video, it gave me hope. I have a vid up as well. Thanks again!
Im so glad to see you recover! I was just diagnosed with bell's on wednesday. Im hoping for a quick recovery as well, its been very difficult for me but Ive started medication and I might have to go to physical therapy so...Fingers crossed! Youre video has given me alot of hope. I cant wait to get my smile back!
hi sylvia, thanks for sharing... I am having Bells Palcy now (entering day 7). thank you for sharing your progress in the 3rd week and actually showing us that we can reach full recovery within a (very) short period. wish me luck to match your healing rate
I was so devastated i thought my life was over, ecause i read online it can someti es take nine months to fully recover. I am hoping for me thats not the case. For anyone reading this, i belive i got bells from the air conditioner. When i got out of the car my face was on a slant. They say it could've actually frozen my nerves in my face. Plwase write to me and like this comment if u have had the same thing. thanks!!
i have BP and i am only 14 years old. I got it about a week and a half ago. I am jujst going into HS and i am so nervous it wont go away for my first day. I am seeing a nurologist, and a chiroporactor. I am massaging it. I got tested for everything and all the tests came back negative. I am still taking a pill to kill lyme's disease just incase the test was wrong. I am also taking vitamin B-12, and vitamin B-6. I am also taking a dissolvable pill to help with the acheness.
I got the bells palsy 15 days ago. I am recovering but not 100% yet. I was on steroids. Did you went for accupuncher or any facial massage. Plese reply.
im two weeks in, i hate it but im getting used to it. im seeing improvements and im getting tested for lymes disease so i hope it comes back negative just scary shit when your life just changes and you gotta deal with it so suddenly!
thank you so much for this video... i was diagnosed with bell's palsy yesterday morning and i'm devastated by all of the symptoms... watching the end of your video gives me hope...just have to be patient... :(
This really inspired me because I got Bell's Palsy yesterday and I've been freaking out about it and how people are gonna treat me wehen I go to school and this just really made me feel so much better. Thank you so much! <3
Can you please help me? I've just been diagnosed with Bells Palsy 7 days ago. I have been taking steroids and all my medications and the inflammation has gone down. I still have Bells Palsy and I need you to please help me. I need to know what you did to get better. Thanks.
@sylbie Thanks you very much for your response. Those are great tips and I have began to use them. How many session would you say you had to do on acupuncture?
So happy for you! Your video was a real inspiration for me while i had bells palsy! I recovered in a month also, feel like one of the lucky ones. take care :)
Hi Sylvia Frosting, thank you so much for posting your Bells Palsy updates. I have a few few questions if you don't mind me asking. At what point in your recovery did you noticed changes? How many sessions of acupuncture did you need? How much did they charge? Is it covered by insurance? Thanks
@MusicforMe123 I has bells palsy for about one month also and recovered! Well about 95% so far in my 4th week. My face felt and looked at it's worst in week 2, it's only in week 3 i started to notice improvement then pretty quickly after that. :) i have just had my 8th session of facial accupuncher not the electric type just the natural one, i think i will stop now as everything seems to be ok. not sure about insurance question but they charged me £25 per session here in the uk.
Originally they gave me a week's worth of steroids... then they gave me more. I took them because what harm could it do? Sorry it took me so long to respond. How are you doing so far?
I was on prednisone and antivirials.
if you just want someone to talk to, you can email me!
I'm actually going through it right now, and it's like, my 10th day. I am almost finished with my medications, and now I'm just waiting =( Did you take any medications from the doctor?
@ggg181604 I'm sure she'll be better in no time :) especially since she is younger. Where are you located? I would highly recommend the acupuncturist that I saw. after each session, my face felt a lot more relaxed and so I saw improvements the following days. He also suggested I consume a lot of ginger tea because ginger helps relax muscles. I have other tips if youd like to know. just shoot me an email :)
