I've seen the exact same thing when i went to paris a while ago. I was driving on the highway and a a380 from Air France was on approach in these weather conditions. The vapor on the wings was just amazing ! wish i could have parked on the highway !ha
I know that it sounds stupid but I always get amazed of large aircrafts. The only reason why they are flying is that you have lower pressure above the wing than under it. Physics, the function of the wing. However such a huge object flying keeps amazing me anyhow. Great pieces of engineering, a fine display of how advanced flight has become. Thank you for sharing.
@636555530 : It might be due to the high humidity on the air (due to the rain). The low pressure area above the wings causes the water droplets to flash in to water vapor, as soon as the vapor leaves this low pressure area above the wing normal atmospheric presure takes over again and the vapor condensates into water making it disappear
Low pressure above the wing causes the temperature to drop which in turn causes moisture in the air to condense giving the look of steam - generally called ectoplasm by pilots.
You know if you liked this video I highly recommend the video with the same title but with /2 instead of /1. This shows the QANTAS A380 fly right overhead coming into land at Heathrow with an amazing down draft as she passes by.
Thanks for the comment it's very much appreciated. I just wanted to draw your attention to my other QANTAS videos which includes a QANTAS A380 flying overhead and a longer feature video which includes a QANTAS A380 and 747. If you check out my QANTAS HD playlist you'll see them.

That's a great video. It amazws me how something that big can get off the ground. makes the 744 there look very ancient.

@ROCK1NNROLL1N This is, by far, one of the most ignorant comments I've read on here in quite some time.

@ROCK1NNROLL1N usually, if you want to hijack a plane, you should at least be on board

I would not want to land behind one of those in my Symphony. Talk about wake turbulence.

whats that white stuff on the wings?!
NaughtyLover92 11 months ago
@NaughtyLover92 it's water condensation caused by lower pressure area above the wing
