  • français :)! j'adore kamelot!

  • As a French, I can tell you he has a very good pronunciation (despite the funny accent), and the lyrics are very close to the english version. I think it's a cool version of Don't you cry, I don't remember Khan singing in anything else than english...

  • J'ai comprende avec 5RAphael4. Tu regarde interassant parle. Il est bon. Tu ne jamais francais sorti est "homo". (Thank you High School French!)

  • @mariyarudes Not more than croatian.

  • ah okay thx bloody french too you?

  • It sounds weird, the lyrics are really funny! dont translate it!! ha ha ha

  • J'adore Roy. Son voix est unique et très incroyable.

  • @SPARTAbassist "Sa" pas "Son" ^^ ;)

  • Je l'adore! Kamelot est incroyable!

  • est-ce que le chanteur est le meme???

  • Roy Khan is a Norvegian In this version he is not The Kamelot singer but the gitarist Thomas Youngblood...

  • XDXD i'm french and the singer have a biiiig accent XD It's so magic ! Le singer is french ?

  • @McAznKey Nope I think is from Norway

  • learning french is one of the hardest languages to learn

  • @HisNameIsNoMore Takes one to know one. :D

  • :O The French version is beautiful.

  • I got gooseflesh when I heard this. I knew Khan was amazing, but I can't remember the last time a song brought literal tears to my eyes. He has the most incredible voice I've ever heard. Just ... stunning. Humbling.

  • Essa musica é linda ^^

  • He's norwegian, and sings in a band based in Miami, FL. His mother is French, that's why he sings très bien.

  • Actually I isn't he an american singer who was trained in Norway?... that was the impression I was under.

  • From and trained in Norway. Joined with Kamelot in 1999 from Siege Perilous, on.

  • Does anybody else find it funny that Roy is a Norweigian singer, singing in French for an American band?

  • @silencesoloud12 actually he's half Norwegian-half Thai. That's makes it even more bizarre!! But again, we have globalization. And I'm a just Greek guy living in England.

  • @Neueregel Globalization can be a good thing indeed. Like you (somewhat) I'm a half Russian half Ukranian guy, living in France and moving to England for my studies next year. ^^

Well, globalization or not, KAMELOT ROCKS, one way or another. :p

  • @silencesoloud12 He sings in French ^^

  • @silencesoloud12 He's Khan, bro will sing where he pleases

  • @silencesoloud12 Haha, yeah. That's a new one.

  • Amazing song... :) Love them.

  • WOW i am french and I know its hard to speak french but this signer sing french perfectly !!!!!!! WOWWOWOWOWOWOWO

  • he is french

  • Nah he's Norwegian.

  • I took French and Spanish at the same time until I moved. I loved both, but French captured my heart. I love it. If I could learn this song by heart in French, I'd sing it all the time.

  • and by the way...if u like kamelot..you'll LOVE listening to Angie's version of this song...Abandoned as well....as so many other of her songs!!!

  • Angie Arsenault intoduced to me Kamelot...&...both artists are to be savoured!!!...I sense a collaboration in the future!!!...

  • It's hard to sing in another language because of an accent. Many singers I've seen trying to sing in another language don't do well. So I have no other choice but to appreciate the shear talent he has at singing in French.

  • C'est magnifique!

  • Tout a fait d'accord!!!

  • C'est tout ce que J'aime!

  • on è pa a Mcdonald =p

  • Oui Oui! :)

  • don't know why but this song is so much better in french

ive been learning in school for about 5 years but i suck so bad

anyway i like hearing it it's a pretty nice language

.. Attractive song with a regrettably universal theme; when it is beautiful it doesn't much matter the language, we retain only the emotion. For what is not french!! know that the translation is in your heart ...thanks to kamelot!!

  • thank you Roy and kamelot for your song in French !!! I'm a friend of you, lot of kiss for you ! (sorry for my English but I'm French !!)

  • -sighs softly- I love listening to someone speak French. I'm a freshman and I've only had one semester of French, but I love it so much. I moved from my school, so now I don't have French anymore, but I'd kill to continue learning it.

  • Well you're cool.

  • no he's not...

  • Why are you guys so mean :(

  • you're not cool by calling someone else a fag.

    I tear up a bit.

  • both versions of this song are good but in this vid the quality is bad.

    i have now 5 years french^^

Keep practising! French must be such a pain to learn for a non native...

  • yes, i'm not so good in grammar,

but it's good enough to understand it.

  • agree. My langage is one of the most dificult language... and it's not very musical... I can tell that those lyrics are better in English...

    Qualité is female.

    And song =chanson in french

i have french for like 3 years now and i don't understand shit of this song i know ne pleure pas don't you cry cause i know song French is to hard and to beautiful;)

    nice song 5/5 20-03 was GREAT:D

  • it's quite the same as the english version... there are little diferrence but it's the same story

  • I'm learning French in school too, I've had it 3 1/2 years now....Still struggling, it's not an easy language, but I understand quite a bit, though :D You seem good, though!

  • yeah french isn't an easy language to learn for a stranger. In France, we say german is very diffucult, but I think if I wouldn' be french, I'd think "french is so a difficult language"

  • According to the people who aren't French, they say French is the most difficult language, more difficult than Asian language (I know an Australian who said she can't learn French as quick as Chinese)

  • but asian languages are easy, when the alphabet is learnt^^

But I agree, french is maybe the most difficult language (Can't tell, I don't know all languages)

  • I agree. it is easier when you learn with the alphabet. although it's easier to learn french if you know a bit of spanish first, from my experience.

  • Or the other way around. Any Latin language knowledge makes learning other Latin languages easier.

  • I think italian is more close to french

  • Spanish sound more like french than Italian...even the writing is more similar...I'm from quebec, so i speak french, and my ex was peruvian...I was in spanish for a long time and saw how similar it was

  • no I speak in spanish and italian is closer to spanish than french. I 'm sure

    saludos

  • I don't know much Italian but my mother tongue is French and I took Spanish classes in HS. Spanish and French are similar, but they originate from a different branch of Latin. Catalan is the one that looks very much like French. I have never took any Catalan classes but with French & Spanish, I can understand basics sentences

  • here an example : don't you cry means in spanish "no llores" but in french is "Ne pleure pas" wich is totally differnt

    greetings =)

  • Catalan is even more closer than French

  • What is close to italian is Latin

  • The closest language to Italian is Brazilian portuguese, because 20 million italians settled in Brazil around 1900. The phonetics of both languages are exactly the same.

  • @mledur

In fact, portuguese is next to Spanish Lenguage, but there is a HUGE diference between Portuguese and Italin lenguage. The pronunciation and the writing are very singular propriety of Italian culture.

WHile i listen to this music, i can't understand what they say.

Sorry, but you are mistaken about that.

  • Well. I just found what I was loking for: "Due to its large Italian diaspora, parts of the Southern and Southeast states have an Italian influence over the prosody, the vocal patterns of the language, with an Italian sounding stress." Source: wikipedia/Brazilian_Portuguese

  • I talked about the PHONETICS. Any Italian who reads a text in Portuguese won't understand a thing, but it will sound good (and viceversa). It's all about the influence of Italian in Brazilian Portuguese accent, which is VERY different from Portugal Portuguese (this one is closest to Spanish and French).

  • are you crazy?

  • WTF? Could you be more EXPLICIT?

  • Spanish is a great competition. I'm a native spanish speaker and I can say it's an incredible and complex language, not by pronuntiation but by linguist wealth.

  • c'est merveilleuse ... beaute en personne... and I'm just practicing my french :)) I've been studiying it for only 2.5 years by now.. anyway, sounds great in french...

  • Is that Khan's voice????

I think that french version is better than english version!!!!

  • Yes that's Khan

  • This is so beautiful <3

  • both the english and the french versions are excellent.. but i must say i favor the french version

  • Same here, It seems to fit with the instruments better when he sings

  • Hehe I love his accent when he sings French ! It's so nice !

  • isn't he norwegian?

  • Yes.

  • Yea i preffer the english one

  • i think the french version is better

  • Comment removed

  • khan is amazing... he has a great accent... you can barely tell that french isn't his first language

  • He got it in his blood, his mother is a frenchteacher :P

  • Je l'aime trop cette chanson T__T I just knew they were going to be un the St pete state theater! I'm going! I hope they sing this....

  • amazing...I'm crying. Great voice.

  • The French version sounds so much more beautiful in my opinion, but of course its Roys voice that makes it what it is.

i tried hitting the range of notes he has but when i try to transtition to the high part of Ne Pleure Pas my voice dips for a moment and then hits the note, he is such an amazing singer

  • is roy khan singing this?

  • That would be a big 10/4 good buddy.

  • Incredible! He sings with almost no accent! Incroyable!

  • oh wow good song, what language is it

    i love the violin

  • his mother speaks french, latin, german and english. i think i know where he gets it from:P

  • This is an AMAZING thought of Khan to make a french version... some sentences make little sense, but it's the thought that counts!!! THIS IS GREAT!

  • This is one of the best songs of Kamelot is just beautiful.

  • he is from norway!

  • Jeez, how many languages does this guy speak? French, German, Latin, English, Danish. I'm probably missing a few. Awesome.

  • Well, he is from Norway, so u should have at least put norwegian in that list;)

  • 'ello fuckface:P Andy here:P

  • I'm a friend of his, goddamit:P "'ello fuckface" is just something we say:P Stop giving me thumbs down.

  • 'ello fuckface:P juratiger here:P
