As a French, I can tell you he has a very good pronunciation (despite the funny accent), and the lyrics are very close to the english version. I think it's a cool version of Don't you cry, I don't remember Khan singing in anything else than english...
I got gooseflesh when I heard this. I knew Khan was amazing, but I can't remember the last time a song brought literal tears to my eyes. He has the most incredible voice I've ever heard. Just ... stunning. Humbling.
@silencesoloud12 actually he's half Norwegian-half Thai. That's makes it even more bizarre!! But again, we have globalization. And I'm a just Greek guy living in England.
@Neueregel Globalization can be a good thing indeed. Like you (somewhat) I'm a half Russian half Ukranian guy, living in France and moving to England for my studies next year. ^^
Well, globalization or not, KAMELOT ROCKS, one way or another. :p
I took French and Spanish at the same time until I moved. I loved both, but French captured my heart. I love it. If I could learn this song by heart in French, I'd sing it all the time.
It's hard to sing in another language because of an accent. Many singers I've seen trying to sing in another language don't do well. So I have no other choice but to appreciate the shear talent he has at singing in French.
.. Attractive song with a regrettably universal theme; when it is beautiful it doesn't much matter the language, we retain only the emotion. For what is not french!! know that the translation is in your heart ...thanks to kamelot!!
thank you Roy and kamelot for your song in French !!! I'm a friend of you, lot of kiss for you ! (sorry for my English but I'm French !!) Je vous gardes dans mon coeur à jamais !!!
-sighs softly- I love listening to someone speak French. I'm a freshman and I've only had one semester of French, but I love it so much. I moved from my school, so now I don't have French anymore, but I'd kill to continue learning it.
hes right BONNE et chanson ;) et je ne parle pas franscais
i have french for like 3 years now and i don't understand shit of this song i know ne pleure pas don't you cry cause i know song French is to hard and to beautiful;)
I'm learning French in school too, I've had it 3 1/2 years now....Still struggling, it's not an easy language, but I understand quite a bit, though :D You seem good, though!
yeah french isn't an easy language to learn for a stranger. In France, we say german is very diffucult, but I think if I wouldn' be french, I'd think "french is so a difficult language"
According to the people who aren't French, they say French is the most difficult language, more difficult than Asian language (I know an Australian who said she can't learn French as quick as Chinese)
Spanish sound more like french than Italian...even the writing is more similar...I'm from quebec, so i speak french, and my ex was peruvian...I was in spanish for a long time and saw how similar it was
I don't know much Italian but my mother tongue is French and I took Spanish classes in HS. Spanish and French are similar, but they originate from a different branch of Latin. Catalan is the one that looks very much like French. I have never took any Catalan classes but with French & Spanish, I can understand basics sentences
The closest language to Italian is Brazilian portuguese, because 20 million italians settled in Brazil around 1900. The phonetics of both languages are exactly the same.
In fact, portuguese is next to Spanish Lenguage, but there is a HUGE diference between Portuguese and Italin lenguage. The pronunciation and the writing are very singular propriety of Italian culture.
WHile i listen to this music, i can't understand what they say.
Well. I just found what I was loking for: "Due to its large Italian diaspora, parts of the Southern and Southeast states have an Italian influence over the prosody, the vocal patterns of the language, with an Italian sounding stress." Source: wikipedia/Brazilian_Portuguese
I talked about the PHONETICS. Any Italian who reads a text in Portuguese won't understand a thing, but it will sound good (and viceversa). It's all about the influence of Italian in Brazilian Portuguese accent, which is VERY different from Portugal Portuguese (this one is closest to Spanish and French).
Spanish is a great competition. I'm a native spanish speaker and I can say it's an incredible and complex language, not by pronuntiation but by linguist wealth.
c'est merveilleuse ... beaute en personne... and I'm just practicing my french :)) I've been studiying it for only 2.5 years by now.. anyway, sounds great in french...
