Guess what? The United States was 72 years old when we acquired the Mexican lands, and the colonies had already been on the continent for centuries. The American culture was well-established by this time.
The U.S. has one culture; the cultures of the immigrants until now have been absorbed into the U.S. culture. The illegal aliens flooding our borders are not continuing that absorption, hence the "nativitsts" objection to them bringing their failed culture here.

No, Illegal immigration is very very simple.
We have legal methods for entering the country.
Deny any form of social service or opportunity to work from those who come here illegally, and they'll go home and future invaders will fail to come. If they've produced "anchor babies", by all means let the children remain. We can put them in foster care and they can be adopted by citizens.
The money can be taken from Obama's flood of socialization programs. And would be better spent.
