First hip hop album I listened to when I was around 10 years old. I kept looping this song to go to sleep when I was a child. The intro marked my mind so much I still remember it like it was yesterday but its been a decade already!

It's "'96 he tried to rob me" in the 1st verse, not "not since he tried to rob me."

'96, as in the year 1996.

@UrbanFl0w Sometimes the lyrics sites just copy each other... "She said I knew her man, tho, no doubt [in] '96 he tried to rob me" is what was said. It makes more sense than "not since he tried to rob me"
