Folks, it ain't a contest. It sure ain't the Civil War, part 2. Seize the moment. If you are in Maine, love the lobsters. In Cuba, try the longustas. But if you are in Sout' Luzianna, you a fool if you don't eat the mudbugs. It's like somebody said about sex: "the worst I ever had was absolutely wonderful."
Didnt mean to offend anyone, dont really know about Crawfish, just that they look like miniature lobsters, wonder what they taste like? I guess that they are not from salt water, so probably nothing like lobster..yanks dont season lobster, just dip the meat in drawn butter and eat it, with the same stuff your putting in that crawfish boil..
Cajun food and Crawfish are the best food in the world. Northern people don't know how to eat crawfish. I surely miss Louisiana and great food they have. Love that Popeye fry chicken as well. Yum! Yum! Yum!
Lord yes - It's been years for me, but I can still taste it too missamanda1025. Taste the music, though. It's every bit as good and filling as the crawfish. Okay, maybe not, but it does hit the spot. Thanks for the posting, Scrambler. You make an old Cajun far from home for much too long very happy!
Crayfish are found in streams and lakes. I speak of onlt Pudding Creek in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. It was good fishing years ago near Sanger, California. While using crawdad cages and a can of Alpo dog food, you could catch plenty. There wasn't a limit. Since we don't live there any more, I don't know if the fishing is still good?
It isn't expensive in south Louisiana! It is what I consider extremely cheap down there, especially when bought live for a boil. They're only a couple of dollars (US) per pound, and a sack can feed an entire family for a day.
As far as away from Louisiana? I live in the metro Atlanta area right now, and all they really sell for crawfish up here is imported chinese crap that is pre-boiled and not very spicy. It is also very expensive.

LOL
