Blade was easy. they could deviate from the comic and not get negative feedback due to overtly sensitive fanboys. There was no risk. All they had to do was make it cool, which Wesley did well.

Wonder woman in my opinion would be tricky. I would suggest Gina Carano. you need a beautiful female who you can believe is tough and could throw a punch that will knock out a dude...check out the trailer for Haywire

There are so many ways that they could make her story and back ground very modern and meaningful. She is a made from the earth for god sakes. Maybe her story can be about saving the earth from the human beings greed. It all fits with Wonder Woman. Everything going on today has had a plot line in all her comics. Perhaps the people in charge of this film just didn't have the vision and passion to take on such a dynamic character.  I am very sad that they just scrapped it!

Word is out that Red Sonja, starring Rose McGowan, is to be released in early 2010. I'll wager even less of the moviegoing public has heard of Red Sonja than Wonder Woman. Kinda makes you go "WTF?!"

i know i will prolly get a BUNCH of flack for this lol but i think mariah carey would be a cool wonder woman (dye hair black, eyes blue) she has the body and she is tall A WOMAN WOMAN and her voice fits it. Okay so i just finished watching the new straight to dvd Wonder Woman movie. I must say this is progress!!! Awesome movie. But I too have been waiting for that mythical long awaited live action Wonder Woman movie that seems to be in the unforseeable future. When will it get here?! And as a random side note I think Angelina Jolie would make a great Hippolyta..any opinions?

Linda Carter is very hard to replace. Beyonce or J. Lo would be a lousy choice. These are my best choices for the role. # 1 Coco Nicole Austin / if she dyed her hair black. #2 Carmen Electra. #3 Kim Kardashian. #4 Candice Michelle. #5 Aria Giovanni. #6 Stacy Ferguson.

As a huge Wonder Woman fan, I'm glad they haven't made a WW movie. Unlike any of the other superheroes, Linda Carter's boots are hard to fill. Costume too. People will let the cheesy 70s special effects slide, but there will never be another WW like Linda. The new WW will have to look like a porn star. The new standard of WW for me is in the Justice League animated series. Those are hard shoes to fill too. I just don't want a lame movie like Cat Woman or Electra. Better none than bad.

since I have been a very big fan of WW since day 1. I am going to put my 2 cents in. Beyonce-No way! Im sorry, I am blk myself & it just wont work. WW is Greek & always was. She needs to be depicted the same exact way. JLo-nahh 2 much booty, not enough legs. Jolie- no body @ all as far as curves and muscle tone. Lucy Lawless- no f***in way! Too manly!

As far as I know, on IMDB. com, there is a release year for the Wonder Woman movie. I believe that they will make a Wonder Woman movie simply because the WB is making so much money off of DC comics back from when the first Superman with Christopher Reeve came out. They made decent money with Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins". They scored a major hit with Nolan's sequel, "The Dark Knight". Last but not least, the much anticipated "Watchmen". If its not her, its another DC character.

Well there has to be a few things about Wonder Woman to be exact, even though I'm not a fan.

1) she gotta be good lookin.

2) tall, at least about 5'8ft or more.

3) not too skinny, but slightly muscular.

4) above, not too skinny. gotta have some meat on this super heroine!

5) Has to be aggressive yet beautiful to look at. . . .

6) athletic. . .right?

7) who ever is gonna play the role as her, gotta be good. ..

FYI. The Justice League Movie has been SCRAPPED; do you homework kidos! The casting had been complete etc. etc. ALSO, the actors had already been cast...They were all paid off on their contracts but the movie will NOT be made.

Men will watch a superheroine movie; you just have to give them a great actress who can pull off the role; that's how it becomes successful and marketable.

You just need an actress (and she doesn't necessarily have to be famous) she just needs to have the factor of belief that she can pull off the part and she has to sell her character...

An actress is not all that you need. You also need a good script with competent writers who know and RESPECT the original material.

The reason the Catwoman, Elektra, etal flopped is because they were terrible.

The script is the thing.

Oh of course a good script and respect for the source material also matters. I wanted to write on that too; but you know how YouTube has a limit on how much you can put into a single comment; so by the time I finished condensing that becuz I thought it was the most important thing...I'd forgotten to make another post about my other points.

AGREED! Wonder Woman could make such an awesome movie if they did it right. WB and DC should look at how Marvel is making their movies. Marvel makes fun movies that takes full advantage of how iconic the characters can be. I could make such an awesome Wonder Woman movie if given the budget. At least the JL movie has been cut from the schedule. It was looking bad.

I don't think Wonder Woman is a bankable character alone. Personally the only time I care about Wonder Woman is when she is with the justice league. If they do make one, I hope they don't 18 to 24 years of age (all young), I'm hoping ofr 27 to 32. What do you think?

As for the Wondy script.. I would like to see a movie based on her origins..There is a boat load of Greek story lines the writers could follow...Since Diana gets her abilities from the same Greek Gods as Hercules, I'd like to see him featured as her cousin, and watch how the entire mystical tale unfolds through magic and violence...As for a Motion Picture; I doubt it will ever happen..Most men will never admit to liking Wonder Woman, and far fewer would be caught buying tickets to see the movie

and that's a shame. i bet that mostly men watched buffy and xena too. i watched them. and i would watch a wonder woman film also. it's a shame that they won't make this, but believe that ghost rider would make box office bank. the reasoning escapes me.
