  • oh yeah i wach the film its scarry and sad D:

  • zzzzz OMG LOUD NOISE SO SCURRRYYYY

  • Ha ha ha, with my satan power, I will cause my ... demon? ... to burst through a closed door!

The nurse won't even know what hit her!

And with no witnesses, there'll ...

... shit. Why am I doing this again? Violating the laws of physics isn't free.

  • lol hahahah first i got scared, then i started laughing XD

  • Fucking typing on an iPod blows. Sickens me that kids have no imagination and can't appreciate true horror cinema.

  • All people saying this isn't scary or asking why it's scary is what's wring with today's generation. Everything is dumbed down and media holds your hand and has to tell you, " hey asshole, this is scary because the only way to scare you is for us to add a shut ton if blood as violence."

I'm 26 an grew up with classic horror films. And I'm not some crotchety old man. I'm part of today's generation too and it sickens me kids nowadays have no fucking imagination and can appreciate what true hord

  • @Ret4life so...your a hipster?

  • @spuddles31

No, and nothing I said assumes that i am one. If I was a hipster I'd be making snide comments and remarks on saying why no one but the elite understand why this is Sorry if i made it seem like i was one.

  • Die of laughter, that is...

  • Your goon die

  • R.i.p all head phone users

  • Lollll

  • wtf

  • I think I just peed a little lmao

  • Wtf?!?

  • i remembered the 1st time i watched that shit. i couldn't go to sleep and hid myself under the covers the whole night. lmfao.

  • I must be weird. This doesn't scare me at all. Yes stuff that most other people find not scary, or only a little bit scary, weird me out and can give me bad dreams. LOL Go figure...

  • Oh, how original! A person wearing a white sheet! OOOOOO, I'M SO SCARED! Fucking pussies!

  • I like horror movies, but this just made me laugh. guess im in the minority here

  • the one and only scene that scared me

  • Whats in the ghost's hands ?

  • @sncalovesferrets

A pair of big gardening scissors...

You know, to cut her head off?

That's why the next scene shows an headless statue... to hint that the nurse lost her head.

  • Is it weird that the scene reminds me if scooby doo?

  • What's scary about this is the insignificant setting, or build up, the symbolism of the beheaded christ statue (which was equally disturbing to me) and THE MUSIC. Dear god the first time I watched this I jumped a mile and that was on my iPod

  • Can Some one Explain??

  • Scariest film scene ever.

  • Exorcist series sucked, and the third was boring. LOL, when I first saw this movie I was dozing off until this scene. I was well awake for the next 2 days.

Still the scariest scene in any TV or movie I have seen since watching this like 7 years ago. Therefore, by default, this is the scariest movie ever made IMO.

  • Best jump scare in a movie.

  • Excellent. The closed door behind her gives the whole scene safety - perfect initial situation for a shocking moment.

  • This scared the shit out of me

  • fucking jump scare

  • Jeffrey dahmer's favorite movie.

  • okay, so i haven't watched this movie in particular so i'm kinda confuse in how that was 'That' was scary!? and also who is this person in the white clothing that is apparently supposed to be scary!? please explain? thanx

  • @MIDDR3AM3R If this scene didn't at least startle you then you have probably taken way too much DXM.

  • I remember this sitting in the theater. What a jolt.

  • this works so well

  • haha goose bumps

  • This movie was great just like the first exorcist ,William Peter Blatty knows how to scare the hell out of people. This scene was scarier than anything of todays standards.

  • how the hell did the guy in white got out of the room after the nurse locked the door?

  • that made me jump

  • Punaise !!!! le bond que j'ai fait !!!!!!! Il faut surtout pas être cardiaque pour ce genre de film !!!

  • What the fuck ?!

  • ugh

  • GESUS FUCKING CHRIST!

  • Was that Altair?!

  • @burntham113 LOL!!

  • @burntham113 yes.

  • AWESOME !! THE BEST EVER!!

  • damn thats creepy, esp the music........ is that a KKK?

  • who plays the part of the hedgeclipper?

  • I went to go see this in the theater. There was this big ass swole dude in front of me. Could probably kick all our asses on this blog. Not that damn day. HAHAHAHAH. The fukked up part about this movie was the scene before that scared the shit out of everyone. And just when we caught our breath. BAM!!! they fukked us again. Great movie. I will never forget it.

  • The Scissorman commeth.

  • I seem to be the only one who thinks this is so funny!!!!

  • @deaconredwhiteandblu no, its freaking hilarious! Startling and hilarious. Oh the horror of it all.

  • @deaconredwhiteandblu You are not, i laugh at every horror movie in the world.

  • A genuinely chilling scene. So unexpected.

  • I dont get it..

  • @Bellarc007 I bet there are lots of things you don't get.

  • Gosh! I almost jumped to the middle of next week.

  • Call me an idiot, but i never really understood this. And whats with the headless statue at the end??

  • @megatron621 SYMBOLISM!

  • @megatron621 -its symbolizes she was decipatated-like the others.

  • excellent movie, if only the 2nd film wasnt made!

  • This scene startled me very much. This is totally the scariest scene in the movie.

  • @Gibbs17Slayer Exactly! Sound especially :)

  • The scariest scene in cinema history... period!

  • how do you turn around and die if you see a corpse following you?

  • this is by far the greatest horror movie for a 3rd installment or further in a franchise

  • WOOOOO

  • I can't imagine the amount of people, screaming in the theatre when that happened. Lord almighty

  • IMO, characters in all white are creepier than the ones in all black.

  • I almost died the first time i saw this... very stanley kubrick

  • Kinda strange, overall this movie wasnt good, but this is probably the scariest scene IN a movie I have ever seen in my life, wow.

  • This movie is misunderstood. It's actually a good film. It's not supposed to be anything like Exorcist 1 or 2.

  • Fuck! I can't stop looking behind me!

  • Without a doubt, this is the scariest scene of all time!!!!!! It makes you turn around just to establish ground with reality that nothing is behind you.

  • this freaked the hell out of me wen i first saw it. the build up and then the music!! LOVE IT!!

  • this is the only scene in the entire movie that i didn't see coming

  • terrifying zoom lol

  • pretty good. I was like.... lame.... lame... lame.... is this going to end like this? then BOOOOM!

  • lmao that was awesome

  • /watch?v=6fHiMo5Izu4

A rapper made a song out of this noise snipped and looped it lol

  • who's that person about to kill her?????

  • @TheGrizzzle -the gemini killer-his soul is in one of the elderlies

  • what's happening in this scene?

  • The next scariest scene in the confession...

  • THIS SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME AND I'VE SEEN THIS MOVIE A FEW TIMES ALREADY!!!

  • What the hell nobody told me there was a third one! and i am super creeped out right now lol

  • dat zoom

  • how do you not run? if you were a patient in that hospital and you saw a corpse with a knife wouldn't you turn white and check yourself out that night

  • hahahaha that was fucking hilarious

  • This scene in this movie, was brilliant when it comes to horror. Notice in the background, as the turns is fiddling with the door, the two folks in the background leave. The cop comes in, and goes off camera, and as soon as the nurse turns around, and takes a step, its the loud music, with the (Demon) doctor in sheets with what seems to be hedge clippers following her. All in all, it was pretty fucking freaky, and shook me up. Anyone who says it did not, is a fucking liar.

  • wow that scene sucked

  • Now try this on fresh blotter ,solo, and a light gale....

  • Too late, I think I shit my pants...

  • This is the movie Jeffery Dahmer was watching when they busted in on him.

  • Made me jump. But that's only because I had the speakers turned way up. Probably wouldn't have as much of an impact if you muted out the scene.

  • Who was that... o.e...

  • i haven't seen this movie, and probably won't considering its a threequel, but damn this scene is scary! and i'm not easily scared by films...

  • FUCKING SHIT! THAT SCARED ME! O.O

  • brutal

  • That is awesome

  • Ad0lf H1tler

  • Too funny! NNNNWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

  • lisa garland! =)

  • That looked funny

  • This is probably one of the best horror movie scenes of all time. It's hard to get a sense of it by just watching just this part. It's actually the entire build up that happens, in the context of the movie that makes it so effective.

I saw this at the theater when it was released, and I can tell you there was not a single person who didn't jump out of their chairs when it occurred. Pure genius!

  • @iamnicompoop When I watched this, my friend clawed me so hard on the arm I bled. Certainly adds to the shock.

  • @iamnicompoop It's a shame William Blatty never directed another horror movie after this. He clearly knew how the genre worked.

  • @iamnicompoop Yeah, when I saw this I fucking jumped out of my chair. hahaha

  • One of the scariest beheadings in film history! Beacuse there is no blood or gore just the implications is scary enough.

  • Wow the owner of this video deleted my comment....must be friends with that racist jddeitz2000

  • That shit made me laugh lol

  • ...holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This film was so underrated. It was unjustly overlooked at the box office because the second Exorcist was so bad, people remembered how much they hated it. Ultimately, when the third film came out, it was immediately stigmatized.

Also, this scene is a great homage to THE SHINING.

  • Aw shite, Ezio got her.

  • @BananaWisp nice AC2 reference^^

  • So sad people who haven't seen this movie just watch this one bit, do yourself a favor and DONT watch this and pick up the movie. Its so awesome, you'll love it.

  • I thought that was a KKK member o___o

  • I haven't seen the movie yet, but is this some kind of a joke scene? I mean come on, a guy in white cloth comes out chasing a nurse. O.O??

  • i showed my mom and her friend this and they fuckin freaked xD

  • LOLOL WTF

  • IDK BUT IM 31 NOW AND I WATCHED THIS AS A YOUNG BOY IN THE MOVIES WITH MY DAD AND I REMEMBER NOT TAKING A PEE ALONE FOR WEEKS AFTER THIS MOVIE THAT SCENE I DONT KNOW WHY STAYED IN MY HEAD TO THIS DAY

  • I could watch this 1,000,000 times and still get chills from it.

  • to all the people who love this movie but are trashing people for believing in god-the author of the original novel (as well as the original exorcist) and director of this film William Peter Blatty is a devout Christian and it is from a believer's imagination that these exquisite masterpieces of horror came from. its so comically ironic that you can call these intrinsically faith oriented films great movies, but at the same time kick people of the same substance like dogs in the street.

  • Stream'`,It."`Now'.`

    Copy`'"&,",Paste''`

  • That's how you make a horror film scene. Did William Peter Blatty direct this?

  • I'm embarrassed that the top rated comment is one that considers Satan and God to be real entities.

  • @GregSK2

People will believe you can't stop them its how it is. Both sides should be accepting so you believe fine and I dont ok thats good now go your separate ways. Im sure you work/talk with at least one person who believes in religious deities

  • i think people who are bad boys and (lol'd) seem to forget that this scene goes on for longer, with the same shot building up a lot more tension. i think this is one of the best horror movies ever made

  • I remember watching this scene when I was like 14 years old, and I got real scared. But that was mostly because I didn't understand what the hell I just watched.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH, what the fuck? seriously.

  • Easily the most overrated scare scene in film history. Why everyone constantly brings this up is beyond me - there are scarier and better-executed scares in Buffy.

  • @MrVinushka if you watch the whole film, this scene comes as a totally unexpected surprise. its in that context that makes it so scary. the problem with watching it in a capsulated youtube video like this is that it draws attention to whats going to happen, therefore destroying all suspense.

  • @NotNamedJones I've seen the whole film - long before I discovered that this was being hailed as one of the scariest scenes of all time. I thought this one was extremely predictable - very few films will have a long, silent shot of something banal unnecessarily.

  • @MrVinushka fair enough. It worked well for me personally because of good old fashioned misdirection. It looks like its setting up to be a dialogue/exposition type scene (I kept thinking two people were going to turn the corner and talk more about the plot), but then theres this spooky and jarring murder scene instead. I also find that there is a psychological anxiety inherent to the scene's composition in that everything is grey and static except the nurse moving around. her red coat...

  • @NotNamedJones I think that's what makes it obvious for me. I know films (especially horror ones) too well to think a 40-second-long static shot will have no punctuation mark.

Much as you come to know that when there's an obvious build-up of tension in a horror scene with swelling music and a dumb girl walking slowly to investigate a noise, it will likely turn out to be nothing (or something inconsequential).

  • @MrVinushka that is true. but I do apprecciate the qualities of this scene. its almost the cinematic equivalent of a Robert Motherwell painting. At first it is static and inert, but on further inspection, the image becomes animated through the sheer economy of gesture, much like an ant carrying a piece of food on a flagstone pathway seems to give animation to the whole quiet of the landscape...

  • @NotNamedJones Maybe it's just a case of what you're used to, or what hits your scare buttons. I'll always find scenes such as the dream sequence in A Tale Of Two Sisters or the Mystery Man in Lost Highway far scarier than shock scares with ghouls and demons XD

  • @MrVinushka ...is in contrast bright and helps here movement be more visible, and it is also symbolic of blood (furthering the anxiety). when the white shrouded figure emerges with the blades, it is almost as though the greyed out background itself (now imposing due to its time on the screen) has sprung to life like an attacking serpent...but thats just my opinion.

  • I got scared by this and I had the volume on low :O

  • LMAO! Am I the only one that LOLd?

  • nurse: ok good night now.. nun: can you leave the light on? nurse:no!!! you know the rules.. not light after midnight...nun gets up and chase her with knife!!

  • sorry, i can help but laugh at the mime.

  • Thats what happens when Charlie Brown gets a rock for Halloween

  • 0:52 OH SHIT A BEDSHEET

  • omg!!!! jajaajajaj oh wow!!

  • please post your comments about God, Satan and all of their little wizards on this video as its entirely relevant to the horror film above and not at all out of place... I would love to have more of your opinions too so why not keep on posting on here as I'm sure its helping your cause and not annoying people at all.

  • the music made me shit myself

  • This made me laugh

  • If that nurse had been EMINEM, you would of seen the ghost fly back into the hallway after walking into that corner.

  • You religious types are all the same. If someone is evil they are possessed by the devil and vice versa if they are called a saint. Good and evil are not tangible and proper labels as they are both depicted on ones personal values. What one person views as evil another may view as good. It's basically a trick in a sense as there is no true good or evil. Only mankind and choices.

  • I saw this in the theater as a kid and it scared the shit out of me.

  • Almost fell out of my seat :S

  • IF there was a god, the devil was his creation one of his sons thatfell from the heavens because he said we were flaud, which we are to be honost, but there is no god no angels no devil

  • @b1gf4tn00b lol

  • She was hot..damn i wanted to save her

  • A pity the rest of the film was shit.
