Legrand is an exceptional composer, having written over 200 film and television scores in addition to many memorable songs. He is best known for his often haunting film music and scores, such as ''The Umbrellas of Cherbourg'' and ''The Thomas Crown Affair'' featuring the song "The Windmills of Your Mind" for which he won his first Academy Award.
@psychodamned alan bates was in this I noticed him in the spring street health food restaurant a wise guy i was with named art lupetti wanted to ask him if they called him master bates as a child [ across the street the pianist harold danko was performing]
@psychodamned wyngarde was in department s he wasnt there but ellen burstyn and john geilgud were they were in a movie with bates then was wyngarde involved with them
In 1995 an orchestral suite of 20 minutes was released, with a harp in stead of piano. As far as I can hear, the original recordings were used, with the harp added. But I may be wrong. Anyway, this is not a vaguely Legrand-reminiscent Boston Movie Pops version, the atmosphere is 100% Go-Between, and the double CD is absolutely worth the purchase.
