  • @TheDeparted112570 Portland not Poland.

  • looks very rare.

  • Yep. It don't happen often....

  • Cool car, but I believe Vespa's Italian.

  • All Vespa cars were made South of Paris in suburb of Fourchambault

  • the guy that had that car in 08 has vids of it pullin wheelies

  • Oh yes. I'm quite aware....

  • a 600cc streetbike engine wouldve fit better and ran better

  • Maybe. The massive 1600cc low rev torque and reverse gear is so nice though.....

  • wow!!,does your neighbor want a vespa400,project..I'm located in Parker City Indiana, have lots of parts, donor body(rough but usable parts)VW motor&transaxle...Cand send pics..THANK YOU for getting back with me,James......My Dad has a vespa 400 and a ton of parts..EXTREMELY RARE!!!

  • Hi,I own a 1960 vespa 400,when I purchased the car there was no drivetrain.I came across your video last year and decided to go with VW power. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get it narrowed.is there any way you could send me some pics of the transaxle? I read that only 1,700 were shipped to the U.S.between 1958-1961,pretty rare.I'd like to trade mine for a 61-67 ford econoline pick up.Thanks

  • Hi, My Vespa has the VW engine, transaxle, and narrowed rear VW torsion bars. The lower control arms and shocks are custom. Lots of fabrication to make it work. Funny, there is a an old cab forward Econoline PU a few blocks away, just sitting there, I've never seen it move.

  • I have a vespa 400 and thinking on doing the same setup...How is the engine and drive train mounted???

  • The vw cradle has been welded in... axles shortened

  • where did you buy it from.? i love this car...

  • I got it from a buddy. Build history is unknown. I'd guess it was converted in the 60's-70's when Bugs were popular

  • 54BHP is way to much HP for such an tiny car. after watching your videos my Karmann Ghia doesn't seem so small anymore. is that 1600 dual port or single port?

  • It's dual port. It's such a blast to drive. Thrill -a- minute car-nival ride!!

  • @2stroketurbo

    nice pun, haha

  • Id like to find a 68 ss 180 scooter to fix up, now i want a 400 also, that is soo badass.

  • other cars seem like monsters compared to it in size lol. cars only need to be around that size anyways.

  • Kinda ugly, but that thing looks super fun to drive! Does the front end "lift" or lose traction with that engine?

  • oh yeah...

  • mofoco

motors for competitions. it is a company that provides performance parts for vws.

  • 43 hp 800 lbs

  • 95 in portland. DAMN! 95 is normal in southeast dixie. not NW

  • It hit 109 this year

  • check out hte rat rod cummins here on YT.

its a dodge 34 sedan. with a cummins engine. big power

  • What a cool little car

  • The vespa is in good hands! I'll look forward to seeing your improvements to it.

  • That engine seems to fit in there real nice. I like the look with those big tires. The exhaust is funky, but what can you do when the engine is shoehorned in like that.. You need to really pimp that thing out.

  • is the handling any good. with all that motor

  • Every drive is a thrilling adventure!

  • holy shit. 1600 vw motor ... ahahahahhaahhahaha. wow

  • c'est bon. vespa?

  • That's pretty cute. Always thought Vespa scooters and Vespa cars were the same company. Interesting.

  • Fiat AutoBianchina related?
