I'd always thought that the way to strengthen a scientific theory was to both "put it out there" and invite people to try to disprove it, and to gather evidence supporting it. But in the case of global warming, anyone attempting to disprove the theory is froze out, ignored, or ostracized. And if the data doesn't fit the theory, then they apparently change the data. This all seems a very strange way to do science.

He's right. The science is still correct. The issue is that some of these guys gussied up their graphs to make more of an impact and impress their fellow scientists. But their conclusions are still correct.
It's called the scientific process for a reason. You establish a hypothesis and collect DATA to prove or disprove the hypothesis. If you COOK THE DATA you are not using the scientific process and therefore the OUTPUT is not correct.
Maybe you should actually read some of the emails. The data wasn't cooked. The graphs were gussied up. The numbers collected and the analysis made on those numbers was not cooked.
So if you want to say that the graphs were cooked, fine. But the data was not. There is a difference.
I think what they are complaining about is that not all the relevant data was included. If you knowingly leave out data that could change the whole outcome or answer than your study is flawed.
From what I've read all the relevant data was included in their analysis and they manipulated graphs to give that analysis greater emphasis. The statistical significance of their analysis isn't under question. The way they graphed their data is.
That begs the question. "What should the graphs have read?" Did they support their position or not? Science is not supposed to embelish. Science is about finding the truth even if the truth does not support what you wished to prove. We rip on creationist and the anti Darwin crowd for this sort of thing. We can't have it in the world of science. Finding out you were wrong should be considered a sucsess. Now is the time to go back to the drawing board and find the real cause if their is any.

His lectures run around 30-40min, but are well worth checking out if you want the REAL information. There's more than just "charts" that have been fabricated. Al Gore is afraid to debate the man one-on-one, namely because Gore knows he would be exposed as the huge fraud that he is.
I seriously hope Monckton is allowed to testify before Congress. The truth needs to be brought forth.

The president's signature is worthless on treaties, because a 2/3 majority of the senate is required to ratify it.
Although, it would have shown that the US is "committed to the fight against climate change," although it wouldn't have done anything. I guess Liberals like all those "feel-good" programs that don't do anything.

He's right. The science is still correct. The issue is that some of these guys gussied up their graphs to make more of an impact and impress their fellow scientists. But their conclusions are still correct.

It's called the scientific process for a reason. You establish a hypothesis and collect DATA to prove or disprove the hypothesis. If you COOK THE DATA you are not using the scientific process and therefore the OUTPUT is not correct.

Maybe you should actually read some of the emails. The data wasn't cooked. The graphs were gussied up. The numbers collected and the analysis made on those numbers was not cooked.
So if you want to say that the graphs were cooked, fine. But the data was not. There is a difference.

I think what they are complaining about is that not all the relevant data was included. If you knowingly leave out data that could change the whole outcome or answer than your study is flawed.

From what I've read all the relevant data was included in their analysis and they manipulated graphs to give that analysis greater emphasis. The statistical significance of their analysis isn't under question. The way they graphed their data is.

That begs the question. "What should the graphs have read?" Did they support their position or not? Science is not supposed to embelish. Science is about finding the truth even if the truth does not support what you wished to prove. We rip on creationist and the anti Darwin crowd for this sort of thing. We can't have it in the world of science. Finding out you were wrong should be considered a sucsess. Now is the time to go back to the drawing board and find the real cause if their is any.
