I always preferred Future Basketball to this. It was more fun trying to lob the ball in a basket from a long way out, if you like speedball then look up FB and you might like it. It's a hidden gem!

I've always loved how you could really "feel" the weight of the ball in this game, also in "pinball dreams". Ultimate fav; Gods. Love the uploads!!

56:14 is probably the most INCREDIBLE game winner ever for this game.

8 points down with 9 seconds remaining, their centreforward gets tackled but not before managing to throw the electrified ball at your goalkeeper knocking him over. But JUST as the ball is about cross the goal line the match is stopped because that very player was critically injured by the tackle.

You get 20 points for the injury and win the match. REVERSAL!

Wow I couldn't find any Speedball vids with the 'ICE CREAM' man on youtube, until I came here. Was beginning to think it was a figment of my childhood imagination, so glad it wasn't! Nevertheless, this was an amazing game, LOVED playing this! Thanks for the upload!

Can somebody explain me why on these kinds of games (speedball, kick off etc...) for me it was easier to play up, while playing down was always more difficult? I was hating to play down but it was fair anyway ;)

@rojma ..... I guess people are used to playing upwards because of top view shooters and racers etc so your used to that direction, much like tennis games. Fighting games like Street Fighter etc are simular, it feels different when your facing to the left....

The best with Bitmap Brothers, IMHO more fun than Chaos Engine and Gods. Single player is alright but gets boring. 2 player with TAC-2 is the best!

Good playing with the red ball / overall :) BTW I know micro-management is boring but you're using too much money for substitutes IMO. Having one acceptable sub player should do it, at least in the beginning games. Usually it's the computer that gets hurt >:)

One more thing...can't the ball be caught from high above by pressing the throw button in the Amiga version. I've only played the PC version (PC Speaker sounds FTW!)
