Western Style democracy is as much of a joke as Russia's, the only difference is here we have an illusion of choice and in Russia the corruption is out in the open to see.

The idea that being able to show up once every four years and log a vote on a digital terminal is "freedom" is laughable. Western "style" democracy ok, but unless you can improve on it stick with your current system.

There are more forms of democracy than American style democracy. American style democracy has many faults of its own. And American style democracy does not equal Western Democracy in itself, just one facet of it. This is not to defend the russian system, just to point out the narrowmindedness of these assumptions
