  • Im 26 yrs old and i love ol skool esp love LL fuck these new skool niggas now its all about autotune smh

  • I love how even though he knew how to play to ladies, the nigga had enough talent to create some great Hip-Hop tunes...

  • WISH HE MADE A VIDEO FOR IT... FUCK IT, ILL DO! FEB2012 CHK MY PAGE FOR IT...

  • @THKBIGFILMS Still not too late. :)

  • THATS MY NUMBER 1 CUT... CLASSIC !

  • I luv it .....real hip hop.

  • Classic LL...I think the oldies sample he used sounds like The Moonglows-Sincerely

  • HER NAME RENAY, HER FACE IS OK..HAHA

  • i was 19 and in the US Navy when this album came out!! my favorites on this album/CD are Canday, The Breakthrough, and this one, The Doo Wop!

  • Awwwww this was MY jam!!!

It's True: Ladies Love Cool J

  • This album came out when I was in Junior High School. Hip Hop of today is no where near the mid 80's and early 90's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rappers of today rely on dancing and catch phrases instead of lyrics. They say one catch phrase over, and over through 95% of a song!!!! Listen to Brother Ali. He has a tack called "Second time around" with an artist called Wales. Brother Ali is the cat on the second part of the track. He best describes where Hip Hop is today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was my shit back in 87 ya boy nef milwaukee i used to play like i was singing this to a biahhhhh

  • oh man i love this song..this album is inventive and way more creative than the garbage today..

  • this is one of the greatesthip hop albums of all time never again

  • shear genius......Long Live Cool James

  • his best album still by far!!

  • This cd came out before i was born and i feel this is ll cool j's best cd. Nothing like 80s hiphop!!!

  • Classic, Classic, Classic like yo daddys 1969 Cadilac!! if you played this in your 8 track back in 1965' you would get some ass for sure that night!! haha

  • This whole album is dope. Recognize.

  • Man i'm just sitting here listening to probably one of the top 3 greatest rappers of all time. For real. I'm countin Melle Mel, LL Cool J, and one other (that I can't remember-old age is settin in~LOL~). All the other rappers were good but they didn't do what LL Cool J did and they all imitated LL one way or the other. I still remember when I first heard "Do Wop". This teenage kid was killing lyrics over my father's "old" music. And what type of kid would even know that "old" music?

  • thats funny there is automatically make-up and exersice advertisments on LL's videos

  • This was my fav cut on this album, can someone tell the name of the sample in this song?

  • @jwh1999 "Sincerely" by the Moonglows

  • @jwh1999 It's sped up, of course

  • @jwh1999 The Moonglows "Over and over again"

  • Whatever happened to creativity. Why are musicians so afraid to be original? I know were in a recession but damn. Is money more important than putting out quality work. Let the listener crossover to you. F*%k the mainstream.

  • WENT ON STAGE I HEARD THA GIRLIES SCREAM AND DATS THA VERY MOMENT I WOKE UP FROM THA DREAM

  • I AMM HARD AS HELLLLL8=D-----------:)

  • her skin got pale

    i wham-bammed the tail

did it so hard i shoulda

    went to jail

    .

the G.O.A.T. get mo' ass than Yellow Cab!

  • smooooooooooooooooooooooth!

  • G.O.A.T. DEF JAM WAS THE SHIT I WILL BUMP THIS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON FRIDAY.

  • LL is king!

  • I heard this song a million times when I was younger. Rapping to this 50's style beat is right up Drake's alley. why can't that fool come up with something like this. L.L. was around the same age as Drake when this came out.

  • @brandon98188 Not really LL was only 18 when this dropped.

  • my fav line all ways been if you call me a tiger then my stage is my cage.. i rip stomp and crush every medals bands rust LL was hard then a mf.. he haven't sound like this since momma said cd'' but he still is the best nobody can tuch rock the bells the original version''

  • You can get this mp3 at audiogetnow..com

  • awesome mix of the Moonglows' "Over and ver again" and hip hop. Love it since 1987 !!!!

  • I WAS IN ELEMENTARY AND MY BROTHER AND HIS HOMIES USED TO BANG THIS SHIT, CLASSIC

  • one of my all time ll jams..thx for the post..

  • I was thinking about this jam at work the other day and how rappers don't flow like this no more! They either go extra slow or just don't be talking about anything that makes any kind of since! Peace to those that know and all those just finding out, your here now, bob your head and listen to hip hop in its prime and timelessness!

  • for one strong song

  • "Tell you buddies your busy, tell your boyfriend beat!" "I rip stomp and crush, heavy metal bands rust!"

  • the goat

  • ''and Im only 18, makin more than your pops''. BowWow copied that line in''FreshazImiz''...

  • Always liked this. Older heads understand that doo wop came from the same streets, 20 years before the rise of hip hop. Doo wopers were the b-boys of the 50's. Many of the doo wop kids were gang bangers. Little Anthony's group, The Imperials, was named after their gang.

  • Classic shit.

  • @Dig0bick : I heard that!!

  • one of the best unknown LL tracks out there, raw spitting lyrics with no hooks...beautiful!!

  • woke up druk as fuk strikeforce day , fuk iy

  • One of the smoothest L.L. songs. I thought L.L. was the echelon of rap back then. He still gets mad love from me.

  • Still my fav!!!!

  • ll cool j is....

  • Took someone long enough to put this out. The "New Coach" line still works to this day. Many thanks!

  • my fav. LL song.

  • didnt need hooks back then!

  • her name was renee her face was ok but she had the kind of body that made jay wanna play!!!

  • No need to rehearse

    then i made my approach

i said you got a good team girl

but you need a new coach

  • I was in elementary school when this song came, i was the only one in the class who knew this song. This song made me cool back then yo!

  • @Hearlion hahaha me too! I don't know if it made me cool, but I was running around singing like I knew what it was really saying....ha! classic! "Her name was rene her face was ok, but she had the kind of body that made J want to play!"

  • Youngters, learn about wit and creativity in hip-hop~ this is old school. This isn't sad Lil' Wayne complaining about how he's all ripped apart and his life is a nightmare and oh lordy is me. Kissing daddy on the lips.oh... I been shot..

THIS a panther at the mike with the gift of gab....the gift of gab, something missing today.

  • miss the old days............

  • this the jurnt right cheaa

  • Back then he wuz a great artist surrounded by GREAT people, 'MAKING MORE THAN YOUR POPS'

  • YOU GOTTA GOOD TEAM GIRL BUT YOU NEED A NEW COACH!!!!

If you grew up on this quality of hip-hop, you understand why so many say todays rap is crap.

  • I concur with fablust1. This is pure hip hop! Notice there is no hook just skill!!

  • they will never get it dogg" game over!!

  • @fabalust1 I echoe your comment my brotha!! L.L. should always be mentioned with 2pac & Rakim

  • L.L. at his best.My friends and I used to hang out and blast this in 87`.Most of them died. The memories won`t.

  • man i dont know what made you put this album on your page but finally out of 100's of billions of people somebody knows &remembers what the hell good music is! instant classic.listening to this one would think you was from the south! hit me back with some more good shit

  • Yeah jellyspine12,This is 6000% real hiphop right here. I'm so sick of this new shit they call rap from the last 13 yrs or so. Those fool don't rap nor does the dj scratch or cut, and it is a dmn shame.

  • I agree completely. This is exactly what I was talking about in my "Lil Wayne Is Garbage" video. New music SUCKS today compared to old school LL, Eric B & Rakim, Too Short, NWA, Public Enemy, even Run DMC!

Thanks to this user we can relive the glory days of hip hop.

  • Their are a million other black brothers and sisters our age and even a few young ones that feel the same way we do. I can't believe what the industry has done to hiphop music, and those ol'simple minded ass rap artist let them do it instead of keeping shit real. Nobody likes blacks, but they sure wanna take our music, dance like us, talk like us and so forth, but that's as far as it goes. And it isn't nothing new because that shit all started with Elvis Presley.

  • Kid's parents didn't like Elvis because they said Elvis was doing black music and dancing black, but he still made a fortune taking rock-n-roll from black people and so did Jerry Lee Lewis and none of them gave blacks any credit or said thank you. Then their wasn't much blacks could do, but many years later you would think we would have say so over hiphop. I know you TrueTalkTV can remember when major record labels wanted nothing to do with our rap music and some radio stations wouldn't play it.

  • amen brother....

  • memories, memories

  • me too...
