Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't had a turntable in years, so when I was at a friend's place and he played something by Jan Hammer and Jerry Goodman, the sound seemed fuller and smoother with a nice sort of 'natural' compression, whereas his CDs sounded more 'trebley' and one dimensional. I could hear the difference, but he said he couldn't!
Strip the vocals from this song and suddenly you've got a piece that wouldn't feel out of place in Spyro the Dragon (the soundtrack to which was composed by Stewart Copeland)
@NotOrdinaryInGames Not necessarily, but a properly set up Technics 1200 with a good cartridge (not a DJ cartridge) can be a good entry-level starting point for audiophile quality playback.
@NotOrdinaryInGames Yes, you should buy a Technics 1200 or 1210; but you should get a DJ cartridge with a diamond tip, and it's not an entry level deck it's a professional audiophile piece of equipment. Peace and enjoy spinning........

one of the greatest groups ever, they are in the same breath as the Beatles, Stones, Zepplin etc. just a different kind of music.

Best song with the "C-Word" ever.

So, if I am looking for a turntable with a GOOD sound production, I should choose Technics, right?

@subspaceplatform As long as it is slightly better than a CD, it is good enough for me.
