at the same time if people want to get on facebook post a thousand pictures, tag everyone in those pictures, and keep a digital diary of themselves online (irony of which microsoft had an idea to use a camera and long lasting battery to do this ten years ago, no need for it anymore here comes FB) they deserve what they have coming to them, use an alias, use multiple accounts but don't do your dirt under your real name, smh ...
@ghomnet perhaps. you also have to keep in mind of how the Internet works. if you are using your cable provider for Internet, that IP address changes every day or every other day. only people using static ip are those on DSL connections. to be honest your ip address doesn't really mean much at the end of the day, that is just a vehicle to get you online, just like your mac address tells us what hardware you are using. you do not have to pass on your ip address either.
@ghomnet things are also complicated by routers and access points, like if you are using the network of someone else. i wouldn't loose a lot of sleep over ip addresses. i actually work in tech support for a provider; people loose sleep over ip addresses like it is the boogie man or something there are more sophisticated ways of protecting yourself.
to be honest I have my facebook locked down no one knows who my friends are, when I like someone,when I respond to someone, etc. only thing people see if I like something or promote it myself. none of my activity is in my feed, but people who know me still want to be friends. the way I see it what I do no FB is none of my friends damn business unless I am doing it with them, so I keep it that way. less than 100 people on FB, makes my life a lot easier.
Not really. Everyone has ads, and if you click on those ads, that is the equivalent of a "like" button, because you get targeted and marketed to. And a lot of people are okay with this. The only thing that Facebook did, was sucker people into voluntary giving over that information. But it already existed.
@ukendcx2000 . I heard of so many cases of these companies releasing searches 4 court preceding. I heard of a divorce where the wife accused the husband of molesting her kids. She proved it by getting his search on google. the husband was humiliated the child porn search was enough 2 make him lose the respect of almost every1 he knew, but he had money and hired a private eye, long story short, at the end they found out the wife went on his computer and did the searches in order 2 get the kids.
@ghomnet not surprised, but there are some dumb ass people out there as well. there is inprivate and incognito search on both chrome and firefox, even IE, so cookies are not kept. some sites that insist of using cookies simply will not work in those modes. wife was off her rocker but he should have seen that one coming you usually know when you are dealing with a loon.
many people are hooked on drugs, they like it, it makes them feel good but that does not mean they feel it is good with them, and that it is good for them, that is common sense, addiction is not a new thing!
So you're saying if you like something, you DON'T want it to be sold to you? I think you're confusing yourself. If i like something, i would appreciate if that company made it more readily available in my area..... it's just common sense. Customer surveys are not a new thing.
