  • very beautiful folk song; it sounds like Woody but this is not his voice; isn't it? And we're waiting impatiently for the next photo during the video.

    thank you to share,

    Jean

  • sounds like bob dylan bit his whole style

  • ...got drunk...shot craps..got in jail.

  • thank you :)

  • yeah, so OK punky, i'm a little primed (been about half a decade now), but this IS a really nice song... "Fish back to the finance company" is a classic line. It's a big country we got here, and it's easy to forget how hard some folks have it......

  • Love Jack, who's that spellbindingly good looking girl in the red blouse.....

  • haha are you being sarcastic, i cant tell. i think i google searched "cheese carpet" bc i needed another pic to put in. spellbindingly good looking. i think u should get out more. and dont jerk it to my videos.

  • @PunkyBurger Hypocrite. Like you've never jerked it to someones video, besides, you've made such a good video that someone has a 3/4 chub just watching it... that's an achievement.

  • love it!!!!even after my ears where tested!!!

  • The pictures are perfect the way they are though it may be Jack...sparse and minimal...very well selected...one of the best slideshows I've seen on YT honestly...been watching it on and off for months actually.

  • the reason this is similar to WWIII blues by Dylan is because they're both talkin' blues songs, ther are a million of 'em listen to Utahs Talkin NPR Blues

  • dylan is not a poser. just a reminder.

  • dylan reminds me of him, early dylan

  • Actually, though, a great tribute to Woody.

I like this version, very good!

  • Yes, I sure did like Cisco too.

  • I approached Jack after a concert about 2 years ago and told him I'd been hearing him for 40 years. He told me to get my ears examined.

  • who's singing? this isn't woody...

  • Ramblin' Jack Elliot

  • lol bob dylans song talking world war 3 blues is so similar to this song

  • For a while Dylan sang and played nothing but Woodie Guthrie songs. That was until he heard Ramblin' Jack Elliot. He felt that Elliot did it much better. It was easier to steal songs and styles in those days, however I'm not having a go at Dylan - if it wasn't for him I would probably have never listened to this song. Read Bob Dylan's autobiography "Chronicles vol 1"

  • if you enter talking fishing blues without woody Guthrie You get Woody's version and a excellent slideshow with it

  • it's definitely Ramblin' Jack Elliot. change the title it's misleading.

  • Ramblin Jack, defi..netly fella

  • 100%, this is being performed by Ramblin' Jack Elliott.

  • who lead( faute de frappe)

  • There are those who leads and those who follow!

  • That's Ramblin' Jack Elliott...Can't you recognize his furious flat pickin'???

And plus he's laughing all the time...That's Jack alright!

  • You're all wrong! That's Arlo doing his daddy's song.

  • no, definitely not. i'll admit, it could be Ramblin' Jack but its not Arlo.

  • this is not woody

  • Americana, pure as anyone could ever wish it. Love you Woody, always will. We desperately need more like Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Johny Cash...

  • That is most certainly Eliot Charles Adnopoz, the singing cowboy from Brooklyn*. The song was written by Woody Guthrie.

By the way, Ramblin' Jack Elliott* has a birthday coming up August 1st (same day as Jerry Garcia). Why not post a "912 Greens" or a "South Coast" if you can find one?

    Good authentic timeless American music.

  • Nope -- it's Jack.

  • no, it is actually Woody Guthrie, it's from a CD.

  • This is actually being sung by "Ramblin'" Jack Elliot

  • Well, I don't know, but it's been said,

The streets of heaven are lined with lead.

You can ask me why the Folks are raw,

I'll tell ya, "Tell Your Ma, Tell Your Pa,

Our Loves Are Gonna Grow Ooh-wah, Ooh-wah."

  • thats in bobs talkin world war III blues. i was wondering where that came from.
