All your videos are Great. I ordered the canon hv40 and sony vegas 9 platinum just because of the quality of your videos. I still cant seem to get my videos to look like yours. What are you doing to make them so clear? Color Correcting, Color Curves, Or What. I mean your videos look So good, I want mine to look this good. Can you help me?
Fantastic Editing, and some beautiful footage. The HV40 captures at a really incredible quality and frame rate. I would really love to get an HV40. i thinking getting this camera but ive got a couple questions.
how do u capture the footage from the camera? u using the Firewire or what. caz i know this camera needs a dv tape but i dont know how do u get footage out from the tape.
@wyin2 You must use Firewire to transfer Files to Computer for video. but you use USB for pics. Interlacment is when only every other horizontal line gets refreshed each time so you get a "combing" look when the subject is moving. In programs like Final Cut, you can deinterlace footage. say you have 60i clip. FCP will take both fields of your foorage and combine them for a 30p scan. This is not true Progressive Quality though.
hv40 is a bit better, but the hv30 is just fine. The only thing that's better about the 40 is that it shoots in real 24p instead of the HV30's 24p cinema mode. But they both have 30p mode, which gives a similar look with less hassle of fake 24p.
depending on what you want to do with it. if 24p is a concern for you then buy the hv40 as it has true 24p. if not, the hv30 should be just fine. check out my new video of my dog, as my video are getting better in quality as i learn.
shot 1440x1080 and exported 1280x720 WMV. Now I realize I prefer Sony AVC. I am going on a trip and I will be back home at the end of july. when you export i have a guideline for you to follow. thanks man

When i try to capture with vegas, i press record but none of the footage captures.

Well, I live in Mexico, and I really want a Full HD video camera for my home-made short films.
But I saw the Vixia HF100 at 14,000 pesos! (It's (like 1,400 bucks)
I don't want the HF100, I want Vixia Hv40 or 30, so imagine, here in mexico it will cost like 2,000 bucks!
I want to buy in Texas, but I checked the wallmart and circuiit city pages and they only have Hv40.
Tellme, wich is better?
Hv30 - Hv40
I don't want to spend alot money, but i want a great camera!

hv40 is a bit better, but the hv30 is just fine. The only thing that's better about the 40 is that it shoots in real 24p instead of the HV30's 24p cinema mode. But they both have 30p mode, which gives a similar look with less hassle of fake 24p.
