  • Acoustic hi hat snare and electronic toms and ride and crash never seen it before

  • Electro-Acoustic drumset, nice one dude :P

  • It's a plastic cover, not a drum cover.

Good playin' though, bro! Rock on!

  • To do it right you have to play the hat with your left hand. Otherwise it just sounds too choppy with all the stops starts of the hat.

  • Hey. How many drums kits do you have?

  • DAMN!!! My balls itch!!!

  • the trick to playing this song is playing it open handed.

  • what kind of drums r they

  • snare is friggin huge!!!!!

  • Try playing the song correctly and try again.

  • @Idiot616 Oh Idiot, The song is a cover, it does not have to be anything like the orginal. It may not be the best cover i've seen. But it's still good.

  • nice house...

  • Hey man, try and adding more difficult fills than just three notes go for triplets instead of just 1 hit..

  • nice!

  • Did u just came up with it, coz it sounded so odd. it just doesnt blend with the music, its not wrong but definitely something is missing, you are talented though.

  • no offence but i like ur acoustic kits better

  • i like the concept of ur hybrid kit brutha!

  • Good cover but loosen up a bit. Show more emotion, you look kinda boredish. 5/5

  • I just turned 13. watch my cover to this song. tell me what you think. subscribe!

  • what's the size of the snare, cause it looks friggin huge

  • sick covers bro and nice house

  • now thats is called good song ok :)>'

  • @BulletTimeStudios lol :D

  • loosen up, your looking a little ro-ba-tronic.

  • @Gibson2471

That line is from School of Rock.

  • pinoy ka ba?

  • you play really good. not bad. how did you learn to play the drum parts?

  • nice man i play to

  • you are not playing it right. Please refer to the steve smith tutorial.......

  • @pearldrummer1

We know, we know. let him have his fun.

  • such an awesome beat.

  • Only thing that I would suggest is getting more into the song, Use more umph because you look bored when playing. Great cover though 5/5

  • not a very 'umph' song :\

  • I don't mean like heavy metal umph just, im talking about some head bangs (small ones) just for fun, or something because he does look bored.

  • yeah i suppose, but i'd be bored playing this too :\

  • Great Cover. Well done!

  • hey, my band are currently covering this song and as im the drummer I was looking up drum covers of this song to get a few tips and i feel this is the best cover of the song...well done tuan keep up the good work:)

  • invest in an acoustic kit

  • totally

  • dude, check my channel out. I have 2 acoustic kits as a matter of fact

  • @motleycruejordan Invest in good drum skill!

  • NO No No! Left hand lead, OPEN HANDED!! Watch the many Steve Smith vids on here and stop playing it wrong!!!!

  • read the title again son, it's a cover. He's playing it in his own way, it's his version.

  • It's not something that can be played any other way. Literally only ONE way to play the song and I immagine he would like to play the song correctly! It's a study in independence and a good one to learn to play open handed. Literally opens up all kinds of patterns and fun stuff. Like I said, type in Steve smith explains and a vid will come up of him actually showing the part. You'll be SO happy once you nail it!

  • WOW nice house look at the fireplace :O

    ur must be rich

    anyways good job :)

  • you seem very stiff, loosen up

  • Open handed play it like that, its so much better!

  • amazing, ur relly gd

  • basic....

  • good job from one drumer to another u rock

  • OMG ive never heard anything that good for a cover i think your better that there real one you rock

  • play open handed and this song becomes a whole lot easier, plus it looks and sounds better. This is still a great cover though. keep it up.

  • OMG JACKIE CHAN :o

    good cover

  • cant hear the bass drum =]

  • yes you can

  • sucks for you doenst it

  • i play this song so differently from everybody else... but it still sounds good atleast

    i hope! =/

  • post avid of u covering it i wanna hear how u do it

  • i already have one lol.....

  • very good drumming beut its played left handed! the drummer keeps the beat going with his left hand and effects with right !

  • You should try it open handed

    its a lot easier

  • Comment removed

  • is that an dw snare drum?

  • No, it's a Hart Dynamics electric snare

  • oh.i thought it was a dw snare drum coz of the circle parts attached to the lugs =) anyways, awsome cover!!!!!

  • nice farmers tan

  • this video has nothing to do with his tan... God, I hate fags like you who comment on things totally irrelevant to the purpose of the video...

    great cover, tnngng

  • hey what kind of module are u using?

  • It's a TD8 Module. Roland stopped making them a long time ago That set above is a mickey mouse mix and match items from TD6, TD8, TD 12, and Hart Dynamics. Anyway I dismantled the whole thing and put it away. I now have a Yamaha DT Xtreme III SP that you can see in one of my later videos.

  • your right :P

  • what kind of kit do you use? it looks like an electric kit mixed with an acoustic kit. Correct me if i'm wrong : )

  • If you read all the comments he did reply and say what it was to someone else who asked. He said "Roland TD8 with Hart Snare and Hart HiHat."

  • it's all electric except for the high hat. the 1 tom and snare just have an acoustic rim

  • They're actually all electric even the Hihat, the snare and the rim as well

  • i just couldn't help but notice you farmer's tan on your arm

  • damn, now i can't stop believing!

  • Anyone know were I could by the drum music for this?

  • why not?

  • cuz its not hard at all?

  • Also, the bassdrum is playing quarter

note. Go check Steve Smith on youtube.

You'll see the master at work and how

    it's really done.

  • its how the song goes and

if you add stuff it usually sounds bad so

    less is more

  • conkareno is right. left hand plays eight notes while right hand does the tom and ride

  • awesome man. love the snare drum. its freain huge!! lol. xD

  • btw just to tll not beein mean here but u play it open hand so usin ur right hand on the snare and toms

  • cool apartment dude.... and good play ^^

  • Never saw this played this way,,,,,good alternative to the original left-handed version I guess, which can tie you in a knot the first few times you try it.

  • this is a song with alot of breaks and off beats. tough to do for some. good job, just not a fan of electonic drums

  • great job man

  • good job.

  • I like your game face man. Nice. Your set looks crazy, is that a real snare drum or trigger? Thing is huge. Quick question tho, I noticed you seem to be looking at your drum module. Is that showing what drum track to hit or something? Also the stone fireplace in the background is awesome.

  • no offense but that was pretty plain

  • awesome cover!!! but loosen up a lil', man!!!! XD

  • maybe you put too much fills, but it's kinda good... The audio quality is not the best, but it's not your fault... really good job dude!!! ^_^

  • at 4:09 you slowed way down, but u kinda recovered well.. and at 4:08 apparently you stopped keeping beat because the fill was off.

  • nope

  • A for effort, just not my cup of tea. Steve Smith's left hand ride on the hat's is just too cool not to copy.

  • loosen up a little but anyways great cover.

  • Your arm is too stiff!!!!

  • pretty good, but steve smith plays it differently. he keeps the hihat 8th notes going throughout the song, instead of pausing it to hit the toms. he does it by using his left hand on the hats, and right hand for the toms and snare. hope this helps, and keep up the good work.

  • i can play up to 1:07 LOL

  • its a drum COVER, add some zwing into it man! add a few beats here and there, instead of doing 4 drums every so often, do 6, jazz it up a bit, dont just do the same thing as the original! Still, you're good, :)

  • wtf is it called when you play the song how it's supposed to then? :P I wonder if cover band is just a way of saying different, and worse

  • Cover obviously means as close to the actual song as possible.

  • my next video is seprat ways im not felling well so it may be a bit

  • why the electric drums so gay

  • electric is not gay for one u cant have acustic drums in most neighborhoods without soundproofing a room and electric sounds more profetional and cleaner

  • i wish i had an electric....

  • looking at his house looks like he can afford a couple drum kits

  • goddamn that snare you could build tent on. nice song tho, keep up bro.

  • You did great he is a pretty good drummer now do a Rush song like YYZ, or Tom Soyer.

  • good job the only thing is to change your drum fills your playing the same thing over but still good job

  • hay that is the part of the song he is doing it right

  • the first minute was probably the best part of this video

your like a robot you gotta stop being so tense and can your fills get any more basic? you have no creativity

  • so awsome man at drums

  • The tom toms need a higher pitch.

  • you rock man

  • it was good but not great. Try mixing up your fills, it sounds like you just keep playing the same thing. Try improvising, and overall just have fun with it. It looked like you were bored, and i'm just inferring that from your body position, and lack of body movement.

  • dude your a freakin beast any tips for me

  • well i liked the first minute...

  • good job dude!!! need to hit that cymbal alitle more on the up tempo strike. but other than that you did ok. Journey.

  • Don't listen to these knuckleheads....

    Your playing is great!

Love this song, I sing it every time I hear it!

I'm quite sure they can't play for shit!

Most people are negative about everything, bah

  • Thanx for watching. I appreciate it. It's really great comfort for me to see your nice, positive, supportive comments.

  • dude your awesome dont let anyone tell you other wise

  • nice job. i like that song

  • nice job. my friend and i learned the first bit but u lost us when you changed patterns. great job though

  • Steve Smith played this open-handed, left hand on hi-hat and snare, while the right covers the upper tom hits and the bell of the ride along with occasional floor tom hits on fourth beat. Try doing it that way for a unique approach to the drumset.

  • youre a robot.....very good interpretation, but feel the song, and relax youre body.......

  • I agree. Your playing is technically on the beat and everything but it does sound robotic. Loosen up and have fun with it. Swing a little! LOL. Your playing on "Hotel California" was the same deal. Very stiff and precise but no life to your playing.

  • holy shit look at the snare

  • Well, it's a Hart Dynamics Pro Snare 14in regular size, just looks humongous next to those tiny Roland pads.

  • wow, thats a big snare pad

  • haha seriously!

  • Yeah, I had a smaller snare (the one to the left of the big one) but I kept on hitting the rim instead of the head coz of its tiny surface, hence the upgrade. The hihat is also a much better and more realistic look and sounds than the original tiny rubber pad

  • great job man i got normal perl drums and im tryin to find how to play it ..... rock on !..!(-_-)!..!

  • nice , nice you need to give more feeling and emotion. It seems that youre not enjoying it.

  • ey dude, nice crib you got! What do u do for a living?

  • Great job man! I have to learn this in a few weeks, for a concert I'm playing. I'll be using your video for pointers :]

  • Thats awsome, i wana learn that

  • nice job i need to learn tht for a talen show...

  • Thanx

  • Is it a Roland set? Yamaha?

  • It's a Roland TD8 with Hart Snare and Hart HiHat

  • Right on

  • i much rather acustic drums, but thats just me

  • nice cover but it looks like u arent putting in much effort

  • Sweet stuff Mr. Tuan...!

  • Thank you guys much for all the nice comments. As you all can see I'm a hard core righty. I wish I could do the HH with the left hand the way it's supposed to be. I'd tried it so many times and no matter how hard I tried I still could not do it without being too awkward. I suck big time I really do.

  • Ah, no problem of course, still great sound.:)

  • Solid cover man :D

  • you moved your snare to the side to have that litlle snare and bought a new snare for between the hihats and bass pedal. geniuss man. great cover.

  • awesome tuan!!!!!yehey!!!very nice.
