  • why is he drawing a line from the left foot at tiger and a line on the right foot at vijay s swing.

  • When Tiger returns he also will be old school, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • love how kostis makes shit up as he goes.

  • Why does Peter Kostis called the "reverse C" old school? Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson and Sam Snead all finished similar to how Tiger does.

  • @mesittinhere, Kostis knows little about golf. Singh could swing much like Woods does. It has nothing to do with age; he just has a different swing style, that's all.

  • @OutlanderWarrior I agree. Kostis says some pretty crazy stuff on the air.

  • @OutlanderWarrior you're telling me a 45 year old can get the same hip and shoulder separation as a 20 year old? kostis knows little about golf and you say the swing has nothing to do with age hahah ludicrous

  • @retreattodefeat, uh, buddy, Woods was in his 30s when this was shot. Second, yes, some 45-year-olds are more flexible than some 20-year-olds. When I was 12, I couldn't touch my toes. On the other hand, some middle-aged folks do yoga and can do splits. But that wasn't the point, anyway. My point was that Singh swings the way he does simply because that is his style-always has been. And there are older golfers who swing more like Woods. So I will say again, Kostis knows nothing about golf.

  • @retreattodefeat, I should also mention that Singh's extreme reverse-C follow-through requires more flexibility than Woods' straight-up-and-down one. And that certainly doesn't fit into the narrative stating that "He is old, therefore he has to do this and that." These guys train like crazy and all work on their flexibility.

Tom Watson still gets the club past parallel at the age of 62.

  • super swing

  • here's my take on the whole hip turn thing: it's harder to get the weight shifted from right to left as you swing through if you have extra parts to move in the process. there is no gain in power from not turning your hips on the backswing, it just makes things easier if you can complete a shoulder turn as well. think about it: the basic idea of the downswing is to swing around your left leg yea? so if your right hip has less distance to travel to get the same effect, isn't it easier? my 2c

  • @dschultz6072 That's right, but you have to be a more athletic type golfer IMO. Golfers like Tiger spend a lot of time in the gym hitting the weights and working on their core strength and doing things like squats and deadlifts. That's why their new school as opposed to old school players, who, just like in almost every other sport spend more time playing the game and less time in the weight room.

  • Tiger messes up his left knee with that swing.

  • i wonder what would happen if tiger woods had a women's flex for his shaft...

  • @unjustamerican Somewhere, there's a scandal joke hidden in that comment.

  • Vijay grew up imitating Tom Weiskopf, and his swing looks very much like his.

  • Absolute rubbish on old school versus new. Tiger is old school (Ben Hogan),flatter swing plane ,restrict hips, torque created with the restricted hips and big shoulder turn. Vi Jay is Jack , Johnny Miller and Crenshaw.Tiger is going to the original old school, If you don't believe me check out Hogan swing on you tube.

  • @rompus62 Ben Hogan was not old school. Old school is more like Bobby Jones or Harry Vardon. Hogan's swing is considered to be a modern swing because he restricts his hip rotation.

  • @huhjunsuk Ben Hogan DID NOT restrict his hip turn. I will send you $100 via paypal if you can show me a video or picture of Hogan restricting his hip turn on a full swing. Hogan used an old school pivot where he allowed his right leg to slightly straighten, and his right hip moved slightly to the right.

  • @DeniedHealthCare I advise you to read the book called "

Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf", in which he specifically talks about his hip movement restriction. His restriction is not as prominent as Tiger's because he is considered a transition between the old school and the new school, but if you compare Hogan's top-of-the back swing with players like Bobby Jones or even Sam Snead, you will definitely see the difference. And thanks but you dont need to send $100.

  • Vijay is bigger than GOD!

  • Vijay was like 128th in his accuracy off the tee. That isn't even close to being the straitest off the tee.

  • @doodoobaybe9 I bet your accuracy is worse than his Einstein. B-l

  • Wow that's means i have a crossover

    swing using both techniques from

    "old school" and "new school"

    from tiger and vijay!

but then again being using a swing between these two are difficult to hit it

    consistenly and long.

Because i need a unique technique master this swing.

    But i'm proud of myself!

  • Also vijay's clubface is closed at the top of his swing which makes it difficult sometimes to hit it straight.

  • Vijay is one of the straightest driver out there.

  • This is a very good video. The whole steel shaft thing with vijay is totally wrong. The players on the PGA tour have shifted from being more accurate to being longer off the tee. technology in drivers, golfballs, and Shafts have changed greatly to accomodate this distance change and to help straightness out shots on miss hits.

  • I do not understand as a black faggot shit is the great life just by knowing the play marica baaaall!.

Who will be the maricas investing so that the black mugroso becomes rich by playing the ball marica?

Jajaja video so that marica. accursed blacks with their garbage music rap, hip hop, reggaeton, and more craps.

  • Pinche Madre! WTF are you talking about. Maricone! shut the fuck up jealous as biatch! Obviously you dont have the skills to show for it...you broke ass Loser!

  • You sad little spanish fuck

  • Tiger is aweful with Driver well generally speaking always had problems with that. Hits it too hard. When he is smoother he does better

  • He was actually a better driver when he played a steel shaft. If you look at his stats, his driving started to really dip after this change. He hit it longer after the switch, but he lost accuracy.

  • Tiger hit 68% of the fairways this year...Not by any means aweful concidering the average fairway in tour can be less then 20yrds wide.

  • useful.

  • XELURST. people like you make the pharmacutical companies rich. take another tablet, have a chat with yourself and maybe we see you on the news doing something crazy. COZ YOUR A FUCKING LONELY LOSER . did you not achieve anything in life to be so bitter-OR IS IT THAT BY BEING CONFRONTATIONAL - PEOPLE ACTUALLY TALK TO YOU. TOTAL CUNT..

  • XELURST - you're a muppet you know shit, I am not from USA. How dumb can you be to not see the difference between the two swings. Clown.

  • dude, you don't know what you are talkin about, seriously. You see, like, Bobby Jones, Harry Vardon, they let their hips and lower body to rotate. That's more of old school. people used to swing that way up until Sam Snead. but then, Hogan comes along, and he DIDN'T let his hips to rotate, and he created more gaps between his upper body and lower body. This kind of swing is more modern and new. And Vijay, unlike tiger, lets his hips to rotate with his upper body, rather than resisting it.

  • Okay, sorry if i hurt you feeling. What I meant to say was that just watch a fuckin video and get a life. No hard feelings, right? we cool?

  • shut the fuck up

  • If you check their stats on PGA Tour website you'd know something. There's a reason why he's NO 1 in the world.

  • XELURST - you know nothing about golf. You don't even know the commentator nor his records. You can't see their swings analyse or comprehend anything. You're just talking bollocks.

  • You are an absolute moron....Tiger is crap for ballstriking ability? lol....the guy has led or been top 5 in GIR every year since he's been on tour....he is easily one of the greatest iron players in the history of the game....and guess what??? the last 2 tournaments he has finished 3rd and 10th in driving accuracy, while being top 5 in driving distance both weeks

You don;t win 14 majors and 68 tour events by being a "crap" ball striker lol..some people are just too stupid for their own good.

  • my thoughts exactly

  • you all are fucking idiots gawd

  • singhs is better than tiger off the tee

  • that hang back looks sore

  • Stocki??

  • The yellow line showing Tiger's swing is straight because it is aligned with his left foot. The apparent 'C' line shape is apparent on Vijay because the yellow line is aligned with his right foot. Come on golf analyst, be consistent.

  • They've only done it like that to clarify and exaggerated the C. Put the line down Vijay's left leg and youll still see how much his upper half is bent compared to tigers

  • i think tiger hit the ball betterin this reply

  • i think tats a rey bad swing 4 tiger. hes much beta nw,, and duzn ova swing lik that anymore!

  • Wow you write like a retard...

  • @shawlerstyle

His swing in 2000 is better than today's

  • Look at how far down Tiger's head dips on the downswing. Vijay's is pretty stationary throughout. What's up with that?

  • That's tiger's load and dip for power. If you look closely, you can see tigers right and left heel off the ground at the same time. The reason that his heels are lifted off the ground is because of that dip that you noticed. It's an incredible power move but even harder to pull off. I've tried and it's extremely hard to get down. I don't reccommend it. LOL

  • It does not matter how you square the club face.Solong you can repeat it over and over, even on the first tee at the Masters

  • yeah, Vijay may have more experience than tiger, but when u have that amount of talent you dont need as much experience

  • i went to the PGA thing today in miami to Darel, yeh all the pros were there and they're having the actual torunament tomorrow, i got vj sings signature as well as sergio Garcia, but no Tiger or Erney Els, i didnt see Erney els and i didnt know how to get the sig of tiger cuz i saw him when i just came, it was incredible and they hit it sooo far.

  • "This is what you have to do when you get up there into the mid-40s."

    ???

WTH. He makes it sound like something just for old-timers. Ya...just like Hogan and Snead and Byron...etc. Heh...

  • i love vigays tempo and he is still going to win a major or two but tiger is stilll the best you cant stop him

  • old school and retro type are making a comeback.go VIJAY go.kaiviti power.

  • looks like tiger is trying to do a bit of stack and tilt on this particular swing!

  • uhh... no... tiger does not do stack and tilt

  • Gasp......Leo.......he does look more vertical here.

  • to me it looks like tiger hit down on his driver

  • neither do u. tiger does

  • cool

  • old school isnt just for older players- i model my swing on a Vijay and Ernie mixture- i am 14 and play off 4 - great results

  • Sounds like Matt Jones is a fag...

  • clevelandgolf(DOT)com/human_performance.html

Someone please post the above video on youtube!

  • look at tiger's arm so muscular

  • tigers swing is great but vijay's swing looks slickkk

  • Peter Kostis sounds like he is getting pretty excited in this clip.

  • I prefer "old school"!

  • I prefer Vijay's swing! It's a classic beautiful swing.

  • Wow, Tiger got major back swing on that one - his club is usu. parallel, but it looks like he does a Daley swing. Nice!

  • dude this is awesome, its deserves a lot of hits
