I completely agree with the statement that not everyone dies in a drunk driving accident. Two of my friends are living proof of that statement. One was lucky and only sustained 2 broken feet, bruises from the seatbelt and a injury to her knee. My closer friend was in a coma for a month, now suffers from a TBI or traumatic brain injury, had to relearn pretty much everything. Please don't DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!

Just about two weeks ago, a student at a Nova Scotia,Canada university, age 19, died of alcohol poisoning at a party in residence and classes had not even started yet! What a stupid way to die! But, so many movies glamorize drinking, make it funny, there are no consequences, as in the movies The Hangover and Superbad. Every generation of young people think it will never happen to them. I did, didn't you? What a sad sad story and drunk drivers still get off or get a slap on the wrist.
i flipped my car 6 times i was drunk lost my left arm over my ignorance.its been 4 years never stepped foot behind the wheel when i even sipped a can. rarely drink.i often see ppl around tell them my story to hopfully get them to know its not the best way to get somewhere driving drunk.thankfully i was the only one that was involved in the wreck.

@badboykike the answer is not so difficult it seems... when you are drunk, you react slower, and therefore your muscles dont tense up as fast as a sober person. and when you are relaxed, you take less damage. that is why people who fall from the 4th floor drunk, rarely gets major injuries. i am NOT AT ALL being rude or anything here.. it is just a scientific explanation. I completely agree with the statement that not everyone dies in a drunk driving accident. Two of my friends are living proof of that statement. One was lucky and only sustained 2 broken feet, bruises from the seatbelt and a injury to her knee. My closer friend was in a coma for a month, now suffers from a TBI or traumatic brain injury, had to relearn pretty much everything. Please don't DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!

this is very sad, i wanted to cry, somehow i have a strong feeling for this woman, inspiring i think thats wat it is, she is amazing, inspiring, incredible story. i guess when the accident hapened, god didnt think it was her time yet, so he let her live a while more :)

My brother-in-law was killed drink driving.He left behind a wife (she was seriously injured in the crash) and 2 sons (6 months old and 2 year old).The couple in the car he hit were killed and they left behind 2 kids themselves.Lives get ruined by this needless act of drink driving.I have no regard for people who drink and drive.....God bless you Jacqueline.

Just about two weeks ago, a student at a Nova Scotia,Canada university, age 19, died of alcohol poisoning at a party in residence and classes had not even started yet! What a stupid way to die! But, so many movies glamorize drinking, make it funny, there are no consequences, as in the movies The Hangover and Superbad. Every generation of young people think it will never happen to them. I did, didn't you? What a sad sad story and drunk drivers still get off or get a slap on the wrist.

i flipped my car 6 times i was drunk lost my left arm over my ignorance.its been 4 years never stepped foot behind the wheel when i even sipped a can. rarely drink.i often see ppl around tell them my story to hopfully get them to know its not the best way to get somewhere driving drunk.thankfully i was the only one that was involved in the wreck.

drunk drivers should get what they give, you cause someone to loose a limb, you get to have yours damaged much the same way, wait as long as they had to before the victem got any help & then mandatory amputation. Im all for corporal, & capital punishment as well as endentured servitude. jail time and a fine for that sort of wrecklessness? Include being burned alive as a possible consiquence to DWI and I bet youd see a drop in BS like that.

Because of this, your body and limbs are more "elastic", giving the drunk driver more chance of walking away with no severe fractures. The victim on the other hand, can see the accident coming near, gets tense, reducing elasticity of the muscles, making them more "stiff", enough energy is supplied to break them apart. It's like rubber against chalk. Learned this is in a mechanics course.

@badboykike the answer is not so difficult it seems... when you are drunk, you react slower, and therefore your muscles dont tense up as fast as a sober person. and when you are relaxed, you take less damage. that is why people who fall from the 4th floor drunk, rarely gets major injuries. i am NOT AT ALL being rude or anything here.. it is just a scientific explanation.
