I think its reasonable to say Pearl Jam is all about making music and promoting the right message. Dave thought differently, he's more rock hard-party harder type guys. PJ wanted the rights members that shared similar ideals on life and politics. Daves been gone for awhile now, get over it and thank Cameron for hanging in there.

cameron is a great drummer but has never sounded right for Pearl jam. Dave has always been their best drummer. Hard hitting, great technique and keeps it relatively simple. Songs like "rats" has a great groove but cameron butchers it. I watched them play "garden" and he butchered that as well, came straight in with the snare when its spose to be rimshots and when they all come in loud for the chorus there was no impact cos there was no dynamic going from quiet to loud. No disrespect to Matt or Dave or anyone in PJ but with Matt maybe on a "summer holiday" tour with Soundgarden, wouldn't it be great if the band went out and played a couple of shows (say for some benefit - I'm sure there's a good cause out there that could use some extra support) and they brought in Dave to sit in for those shows. It wouldn't have t be anything serious, just a jamming with old friends and sharing good music with the fans.

When Abbruzzese played for Pearl Jam, not only was the band powerful, but it was also funky. Even Dave Krusen and Jack Irons had that, and so did drummers like Sean Kinney, Mike Bordin and Eric Kretz. Matt Cameron doesn't have a funky bone in his body. So now Pearl Jam is this plodding, very ordinary rock band. If something like "Spoonman" were played by Abbruzzese, it would have been 10 times funkier.

With most artists they have already been paid when they sign their contracts. They don't get paid again until they tour or sign a new contract with another label, which Pearl Jam did with J Records instead of resigning w/ Sony/Epic. The rerelease of remixed Ten would not have been for money in that way, but maybe to have versions of those songs owned by J records rather than Sony.
dave really put alot of emphasis on the melody...especially in the bridge of this song....the difference between him and matt is that dave grooves more with Ament...where as matt is much more heavy rock...like soundgarden. this songs amazing

@PearlVedder crap. Cameron is perfect for pearl jam now, Jack Irons was also bad ass. This dude here lacks the soul the other two have, that's why he's no longer anywhere to be heard of.

When Abbruzzese played for Pearl Jam, not only was the band powerful, but it was also funky. Even Dave Krusen and Jack Irons had that, and so did drummers like Sean Kinney, Mike Bordin and Eric Kretz. Matt Cameron doesn't have a funky bone in his body. So now Pearl Jam is this plodding, very ordinary rock band. If something like "Spoonman" were played by Abbruzzese, it would have been 10 times funkier.

Dave was very good, energic, criative, sensitive drummer.
Cameron was a good drummer in Soungarden, techincal and criative performative, but in PJ he is not very good. I dont now it.

@RafaHidalg0 then you're a fucking donut!! cameron is, like dave, a grunge legend on drums. different styles. cameron is more suited to later pearl jam material - the band evolved. i do agree that abbruzzese plays with more passion and this is suited to the first two albums. cameron is more steady and calculated - more suited to the recent PJ. whatever...if you're a PJ fan, you can't go round saying you hate cameron. peace

@shintzplintz sorry to enter this fight... its just that enjoy dave is enjoying a different era. its to bring all this thing that PJ once ment. its impossible to listen to dave, and not compare, the era, and the energy. I belive cameron is a great player. he is a legend, but his drumming for the PJ is too pop and boring. even the PJ nowdays would sound better, with there were this passion and soul giving that dave once had.

@luiscurtolo @luiscurtolo papá, si el tipo toca con mas pasion x q no esta tocando, cuando el solo queria tener un estilo de rockstar cosa q la banda odia, aparte q es republicano otra cosa q la banda no soporta, no tenia buena comunicacion con ninguno de los integrantes; si sabes la historia de x q Eddie escribio la cancion ''Glorified G'' del album Vs sabras q el no encajaba, el es buen baterista pero sino hace quimica con la filosofia del grupo es como si fuera un aprendiz tocando las maracas

@GUARIKAKANAY ill try my spanish. si yo concordo con ust. pero no miro eso con sus ojos. es verdad la historia de glorified g, dave ha trazido consigo 2 armas de fuego, y concordo q su postura no es la perfecta con la banda. pero yo tengo q no concordar con ust porque dave tenia un buene relacionamiento con mike y jeff, el major problemo era con Ed. yo no pude conpreender la parte que hablas sobre la pasion. its just undoubtable his passion for the music and that band.

@GUARIKAKANAY pero es lo q es. el no se "fit" con los principios de la banda, especialmiente por ser un republicano texano (eso es pesado), pero por la musica, por todo el momiento, pasion, energia y alegria q el trasmitia al publico, yo penso q deberias ter ocorido una conversa con el. enough. eds atitude was coward. he sent stone to fire dave. without a chat. i just belive that for sake of thier energy he had to stay.

@GUARIKAKANAY and just to ilustrate another known episode, when daves cover on moderndrummer magazine was released, ed made mustachs and screw the cover in front of him. rude. but understandable as ed never allowed magazines to put only his photo on covers. had to be all the band or none. and comeon, even krusen would be a better fit on PJ, when they decided to fire dave. cameron makes PJ sound weak and pop. boring.

@luiscurtolo I appreciate your effort with the Spanish, nice try friend, well I didn't take credits to dave but is it that Cameron has been technically with the band since the beginning and before Kruse, and Dave never he won the confidence of the band as well as Cameron, the rhythm on drums of''alive''flow''events''and''Once''were contributions from cameron and Kruse only added part of his style and you can hear it in the first demos

@GUARIKAKANAY haha tnx... i heard about the cameron presence before, but didnt know was that present, but i still prefer dave passion joy energy and stuff... cameron is a great dummer, as a drummer i have to admit, but, having the contacts with pj bootlegs shown me a drum creativity that i never seen on that era. cheers. (btw i had spanish classes at 6thgrade, long time ago, not thay bad at all)

@RafaHidalg0 bueno Rafa el problema e que Cameron se ajusta perfectamente a la politica de la banda, y tecnicamente ha estado en la banda desde sus inicios y eso pesa mas que el talento que el tenga, Dave jamas encajó con el estilo de vida y lo que ellos querian proyectar y x eso lo hecharon, es duro pero el tipo no volvera a menos q ocurra un milagro

@GUARIKAKANAY mi candidato es Jack Irons porq es una mezcla de esos tres mas los pequeños ritmos tipo wold music y beats freaks que agregaba y el otro seria Krusen q es TREMENDO y ademas no eran republicano o poser...porq (como diriamos los venezolanos) eran cosas que le sacaban la piedra a eddie, jeje. No se que le paso a Cameron, la verdad si vistes eso shows de Showbox con Soundgarrden y su otro proyecto recientemente...la verdad el tipo es buensimo y aca en PJ no se desempeña como ellos

@theachtungtree estoy totalmente de acuerdo con respecto a Jack Irons, de hecho se puede decir q el fue el q salvo la banda antes q se desmoronara ante los conflictos internos de 1994-95, le dio un apoyo moral tremendo, cosa q tales problemas se reflejaron en Mike con el abuso de las drogas y al unirse a Lane Stanley en Mad seasson y tambien en Jeff al estar en un proyecto paralelo llamado ''Tree Fish'', de hecho en la historia de comoellos grabaron ''No Code'' cuenta parte de eso

I know, but they are a band, if someone disagrees with them, it creates a negative energy between the entire band, I agree he was there best drummer and it sucks, but if he was just slowing down the rest of the band while theyre trying to move forward, they had to let him go. If they didnt, the band would have most likely have broken up.

Clearly "lordgay" and "KingKunt" don't have a fucking clue about anything other than licking ball sacks. I got FREE tickets to see PJ back in 2007 and they SUCKED ASS!! THEY ARE THE BADDEST (WORST) TOURING BAND I'VE EVER SEEN!!

With most artists they have already been paid when they sign their contracts. They don't get paid again until they tour or sign a new contract with another label, which Pearl Jam did with J Records instead of resigning w/ Sony/Epic. The rerelease of remixed Ten would not have been for money in that way, but maybe to have versions of those songs owned by J records rather than Sony.

dave really put alot of emphasis on the melody...especially in the bridge of this song....the difference between him and matt is that dave grooves more with Ament...where as matt is much more heavy rock...like soundgarden. this songs amazing
