  • Music seems so loud compared to your commentary...

  • I clicked on the video and I got a full blast of this awful sight. Nearly had a heart attack.

  • for the crane, you push a button on the crane, no need to cut lol

  • So some random guy in a cloak comes out of no where unexplained?

  • if you look at him, it says "this is mr. x. he wants you dead."

  • Damn this music makes me think you're gonna die any moment D=

  • WHAT!? Jesus Laura, who made that purse? Either it's way roomier inside than out or she's very good at Tetris.

  • i think you had too loiok at the wire before you cut it thats why it wouldnt let you do it

  • I noticed that that if Laura waits under the elevator, she can get crushed to death by it.

  • Reminds me of the later chase scene in Phantasmagoria.

  • My heart = jumping

  • Why didn't you title it The Beatles' Song "Run for Your Life" Y'know? Run for your life if you can little girl, hide your head in the sand little girl, catch you with another man, that's the end-ah little girl.

  • Title = BIG HINT!!!

  • A mummy in your purse?!?!

  • Operation GTFO commence!

  • The joys of hammerspace.

You'd think Laura would be able to hide in the purse given the amount of room it has.

  • The countess looks like she shat a few bricks.

  • If I remember correctly... if you accidentally touched the glass pyramid in the eastern part of the Egyptian Exhibit, it would mess up your chances to survive the hiding encounter there. Furthermore, it took me FOREVER to get the wire to cut in the Storage Room... It's like they had a small point where you had to click with the wire cutters. -_- Evil!

  • eeeeeeep

  • This part reminds me of Clock Tower. :)

  • This is my favorite part of the game. I have a save game right before the beginning of the act so I can play it whenever I want XD

I also consider the chase theme from this act ("Chased by Mr. X") as one of the best songs in a Sierra Adventure Game.

  • Why can't Laura just trap the killer in her purse? There's certainly enough room.

  • You made the game unwinnable by not picking up Steve's boot :/

  • the worst part about that darn boot was that if you looked at it, it would give you a close up (like the sandwich, baseball, etc) but you couldn't PICK UP the boot from the closeup, only by using the hand icon from the normal view. ANNOYING, and confusing.

  • @nsssj no the boot is there by steve for some reason

  • This is the part that traumatized me the most as a kid. When I got to this act with the chasing and I couldn't figure it out I put the game down and never played it again!

  • I never heard the High pitched end of the OH NOES music.

Everyone always ran away too fast for me to hear it.

    I love this chapter.

Someone might have mentioned something near the start that may or may not have an impact on this game.

Or am I just being random????

  • This is the part I always got stuck in. I played the game through - twice - and always thought, was youthfully positive, the teddy bear was the next clue. I tried to pinch it, pick it, grab it, manipulate it, everything. I remember being so frustrated I even called the Sierra helpline and still didn't get past it.

Thank you, Hercrabbiness, Lateblt, and...Our Friend From Across the Sea, for letting me finally finish this game, if only be proxy.

  • To be honest this part of the game still kind of freaks me out. It's really easy to mess up, and when I didn't know what to do it was a nightmare, especially when you think you might be safe only to have the cloaked guy corner you and bash your brains out. :( I don't know, this has to be one of my favorite adventure game sequences, up there with Rosella digging up the graves at night in King's Quest IV.

  • This is my favorite part of the entire game, brings back lots of memories!

  • Wow, I didn't remember the "Other" mummy thing between "his" "hands" O-o

Hm...so the chaser could well be: Dr. Miklos, Steve Dorian, Detective O'Riley, Wolf Heimlich, Dr. Smith or Rameses Najeer... Choices, choices...

  • Yeah, I remember the video where they found suspicious glasses near the crime scene.. They couldn't think of anyone who would uthe glathes like that, but I could thertainly think of thomeone.

  • I like how the corners of the message box become bones.

  • run you meddling kid! Run!!

  • wow...the music increases in pitch...and gets the mood set in! how exciting! You'd think with the Dagger of Amon Ra Laura could just throw it at the attacker???....

  • OMG! You just HAD to end the video on best part...

Still, I guess that, Laura's purse leads to an another dimension, which explains why the purse can fit so many things into it.

  • I first played this game when I was 20 and the chase freaked me out. Just watching you guys do it freaks me out. I guess that's the sign of excellent adventure game making though!

  • Dear God, is this the buggiest Sierra game ever or what?

  • At this point as a kid I would have just turned the game off and hid hehind the sofa. Hack. Back then I was scared of Barbies detective club :|

  • Same here, man.

Especially Detective Barbie in the Mystery of the Carnival Caper. I mean, it took place at night and you could see him watching you sometimes from behind a ride or a corner.

    Scary stuff. :(

  • *sniff* I'm not alone anymore :)

  • The chase scene always reminded me of Clock Tower, that horror survival game series where you'd have to navigate through the mansion while you run, evade, and hide from this kid with a pair of giant scissors.

    Fun times~

  • I also had flashbacks to that. Especially the hiding spot inside the sarcophagus... It would have been awesome if he had a 20% chance to find you in there though ^^

  • Aside from all the dead bodies, 'the chase' gave me nightmares as a kid!

  • Oh and I think you may have needed to look at the crane mast before you could cut it.

  • Excitement plus! I remember getting a walkthrough on the internet for this when I first played it.

Like OMG. Internet in 1994 - I was at a family friend's house printing on a old dot matrix printer with the perforated edged. I still have it, it's the only walkthrough I still have. ^^
