It was filmed at a studio for a CD Rom called "Encyclopedia of Martial Arts" that came out 15 yrs ago, this was one of 20 clips they filmed. The end product (which I never got given) had about 5 clips on, plus history of Savate, a little info about past Champion "Richard Sylla" and some info about types of competition (Assaut, Pre -combat and Combat).

I was gonna repy to "Ghostrider" but.....what would be the point, he obviously knows so much about Savate. I have also done muay thai, WKA kickboxing, Wing Tsun, Hapkido, Judo and boxing - there is nothing "gay" or "idiot" about any form of combat sport, there are differences between them all as there are dfferences in peoples opinions about many things - I personally think Ghostrider is maybe a closet homosexual who needs to "come out" and be honest to himself but.....that is just my opinion.

That last move was dumb. A GOOD boxer would have thrown a crushing straight right.

A straighht right is 4 times faster than that sweep and that silly kick would be begging to be countered with a straight.

IF you "pause" the clip at 2 seconds....you'll see that a straight right wouldn't work as my head is well out of his punching range....

You need to take boxing classes. The straight right is thrown with the hips and back. Yes, it would reach, I box everyday. Sorry man, that's just a silly move against a boxer.

A) I was not doing boxing....I was doing Savate.

B) A straight right wouldn't have reached the target, if you watch the clip carefully you will see that my left hand is gaurding my head against any "incoming" riposte (reply).

C) My opponent was in no position to deliver a reply punch as he was badly balanced.... which is why the footsweep "Coup pied bas" worked so well.

I box in Edmonton, why do you just "talk" about it. What would talking do to help you learn boxing? You have to spar and train and learn the basics and build yor own style and watch fights live, in person and train hard daily to learn how to box. You have to learn boxing in a boxing gym not online on internet forums!

@savateuk Friend when kick is added and become kick boxing many things in timing and distance are changing from just normal boxing so kick boxing family of fistic art not really practise to fighting with boxer - so many things in footworking and doing technique very different even if would not be best against actual boxer are better against actual kick boxer. Hope is clear.
