@pythonmsh AWD corners the worst out of any drive train, the way the system is set up its most efficient when straight so when you turn the wheel everything works against itself pushing it out through any corner. its called oversteer, fwd or rwd only over/understeer when traction is broken. a fwd as long as you don't break traction with to much throttle will ALWAYS take the inside on any corner no matter what. its called break steer. dive in hard float through and power out. dirts anoth story.

@TheSmartin2 depends on whats done to the evo I've owned an evo and a couple boosted civics the evo is quick but has a bad turbo lag you can always brake boost but a gsr turbo with a race kit and a really good tuner can make 400+whp stock internals where the evo you do 272 cams i/e boost controller fuel pump and injectors to make those numbers cheap and easy I can name other ways but its alot of parts I don't want to take the time to list

Well an evo much sexier IMO, not to mention evo's were built for the track for the most part. For a straight line, a eg hatch weighs nothing and putting 4 passengers into it of course makes it heavier but it prolly does not add up to what the evo weights with 2 passengers. Take it to a road course or from a dig :)
okay.. tto get an evo... start with the reg. lancer... convert it to all wheel drive, add some cool brakes a suspinsion, and body kit. then the turbo boost it like crazyy! because the evo has the same 2.0L 120BHP engine as the lancer... now to get a turbo honda, lets just say the GSR... starts with 142 hp. add the turbo, and myabe build the bottom end, with a new clutch... and u started higher than the lancer,, u'll then finish higher than the evo. granted the boost is about normal 8psi ish.

yea i agree with boostedust. honda's are only 1.5-2.0 liters. Look at the type R b18c5 195hp on an 1.8 liter. no engine could ever beat that kind of power on such a small engine.
honda has the best engine out there, other engines has to go bigger litre to produce that kind of power.

Honda motor vs. Evo motor are different. Unless is a s2k motor, which still isnt great. Power to weight ratio is in the hondas side. thats all it is. 220whp in a civic that weighs as much as a brick is fast.

If the d-series was great, why not put it in a s2k motor or type r or the mugen civic? LOL, please. no honda motor can ever compare. Not even an NSX.
if you tell anyone a b18 has 197 stock they would laugh at you like I am now. Put any gsr on a dyno with an eclipse and see the results. a b18 would only hit around 110whp while the 4g would be around 170whp. Now if you understand, those are stock. Tune the 4g with minor bolt ons and you'll be around 250whp while the b18 wouldn't get much unless boosted. If you can put a turbo on there, then use it. It doesnt take anything away from the car or the manufacturer. LOL. dummy

well, I've never taken them both apart.. but I would assume that the Evo has higher quality internals, sleeves etc.. to hold the extra power, so ya, ur prolly right there.

bulldog, its definitely not the same 120hp engine. its more along the lines of 285hp stock. thats a VAST difference in power. the evo has a 4g63. the lancer does not. i dont know what it has. i think its a 4g93 but its definitely not the same engine as the evo...so, i just explained how youre wrong

that is a significant difference. and the evo 9 does NOT have a 4g93 motor. and we're talking about an evo, not a lancer. Were talking about the difference between a family sedan and a rally car. two different purposes on the road. a stock civic would kill a lancer.
yes, the evo is a highly upgraded lancer but not the same engine and it comes like that stock whereas the civic needs to be highly upgraded from stock to match a stock evo. now, how is any of that wrong?

Originally i stated,and you agree with me on this, the stock civic would take a stock lancer. I was just saying this vid is kinda obvious, that a stock evo wouldn't keep with a Turbo civic, because, the civic obviously has a lot of work done to it. Then I said if a stock civic would take a stock lancer, why wouldn't a turbo civic take a stock evo?

hence the whole engine talk... and yes the actual ENGINE BLOCK and specs are the same, besides for compression. But all the extras make the Evo wat the Evo is. turbo, manifold, down pipe, intercooler, shocks, and springs etc...

I never said anything BAD about an evo, i have a friend with an evo (I think he sold it recently havn't talked to him) They r nice cars. But u cannot deny that its the same 2.0l 120hp engine in the regualr lancer... Just boosted etc...

the engine in the evo is nothing like the engine in the regular lancer. the 4g63 was designed for top-end boost from the beginning while the engine in the lancer was designed for NA mid-range

Well an evo much sexier IMO, not to mention evo's were built for the track for the most part. For a straight line, a eg hatch weighs nothing and putting 4 passengers into it of course makes it heavier but it prolly does not add up to what the evo weights with 2 passengers. Take it to a road course or from a dig :)

okay.. tto get an evo... start with the reg. lancer... convert it to all wheel drive, add some cool brakes a suspinsion, and body kit. then the turbo boost it like crazyy! because the evo has the same 2.0L 120BHP engine as the lancer... now to get a turbo honda, lets just say the GSR... starts with 142 hp. add the turbo, and myabe build the bottom end, with a new clutch... and u started higher than the lancer,, u'll then finish higher than the evo. granted the boost is about normal 8psi ish.

yea i agree with boostedust. honda's are only 1.5-2.0 liters. Look at the type R b18c5 195hp on an 1.8 liter. no engine could ever beat that kind of power on such a small engine.
honda has the best engine out there, other engines has to go bigger litre to produce that kind of power.

if ppl had the money to do all this to a civic. why don't we see more of them. Its so cheap and so easy right. most of the ppl commenting dont even have the slightest idea. you cant just slap a turbo onto a civic and call it good. there is alot more to that.
Honda motor vs. Evo motor are different. Unless is a s2k motor, which still isnt great. Power to weight ratio is in the hondas side. thats all it is. 220whp in a civic that weighs as much as a brick is fast.

D-series honda heads flow better than stock evo 9 mivec heads...rofl. im sorry 4g63 is a good motor...(albeit it took 20 years to get it right)..but I dont think you can compare it to any honda engine. Honda engines are reliable. easy to tune. have great aftermarket support. and are cheap. and the k series is probably the best motor out to date. period.

It didnt take 20 yrs to get right. LOL. they made it for the vr4 galant and it took every 4 banger by storm. the 4g was in every talon and eclipse. I believe an eagle talon has the faster 4 banger time in the world. I don't see any honda motors doing that anywhere. If the d-series was great, why not put it in a s2k motor or type r or the mugen civic? LOL, please. no honda motor can ever compare. Not even an NSX.

if you tell anyone a b18 has 197 stock they would laugh at you like I am now. Put any gsr on a dyno with an eclipse and see the results. a b18 would only hit around 110whp while the 4g would be around 170whp. Now if you understand, those are stock. Tune the 4g with minor bolt ons and you'll be around 250whp while the b18 wouldn't get much unless boosted. If you can put a turbo on there, then use it. It doesnt take anything away from the car or the manufacturer. LOL. dummy

a stock ctr swap in a eg civic with a good driver will smash an evo all day long son. and thats not a hard mod done to the car. the whole swap cant be easily done in 4 hours.... you cant even change the clutch on an evo in that time. lol. gtfo
or keep the stock single cam throw a $2500 turbo setup and smash an evo. no "conversion" needed.
