@mahogamist Really? This is a serious comment? As you can probably tell by the costumes and the atmosphere and everything else that this is just a show. In fact it was a club at Pleasure Island. Do you go to the Pirates movies and scream out "That's not really Jack Sparrow, that's an actor. Why do people try be things their not?" No. This is an actor portraying a role and nothing more.
Something cool and fun to do: Memorize the first, last, and one of the middle verses. Play Wii Music and do Games> Handbell Harmony> Sukiyaki and sing along!
The title of the song is Sushi-Yucki, by Pat Donohue. Pat's own performance of the song is funnier, and musically delightful. Pat's a master fingerstyle guitarist. Check him out whenever, wherever you can. You'll be glad you did.
The reason you liked it so much on Prairie Home Companion was that you were hearing it performed by Pat Donohue, the extraordinarily talented songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist who wrote it, and unfortunately was not credited in Mr. Hodges' performance, nor by the poster here on YouTube. Pat's a class act, and deserves better than that.
This song was written by Pat Donohue NOT by this guy, as he says ..... Why do people try to take credit for things that they did not do ??

What happened then I don't know,
I loosened my kimono,
I make a noise like the voice of Yoko Ono.
Then just like that, right on the mat,
Me sicky icky yucky sushi.
