I know Q. Tarantino is an a**hole who talks about stuff like this all the time, rips stuff off, and spends every waking moment patting himself on the back and taking credit for stuff he doesn't deserve, but please don't let him ruin great films like this for you.
He's an artist and all artists are inspired by somebody. In Hollywood, everybody steals from each other. He pays homage to them--he doesn't "steal" from them. And just starting from a blank sheet of paper is impossible. You make less. Every work of art is inspired by one preceding it. Besides, his films are post-modern. Why do you people insist on him hiring a composer to make a score for his films? That's too generic and like the rest of Hollywood. See, we actually know this music's good.
You're just too ignorant to except art as art because you likely aren't even an artist yourself. You're probably just like the rest of the sheep population. I agree that Death Proof had some flaws, but it was definitely not a bad film. It had some cool characters, dialogue, humor, eye candy, a fantastic car chase scene, and a great soundtrack including this song. Actually, he does films like these a favor by what he does. Less would've known of Lady Snowblood had Kill Bill not come out.
@Transformers2themax Sheep population? Ha that's funny. I'm named after a Herschell Gordon Lewis film and you're a transformer and I'm the sheep??? I've been drawing and painting all my life and I play several instruments.
@MontagTheMagician Interesting that you say that because I have the username that I do for that exact reason. Regularly, I wouldn't dare to have it as my username. See, I've found that people often use usernames as a judgment of someone. Therefore only a troll with nothing better to say would attack someone username. Obviously, you've fallen into a category. You just call yourself an "artist" because it's a herd, and only a sheep follow herds. You're an assimilationist. Tarantino just makes art.
@Transformers2themax Wow, I've never seen anybody contradict himself and prove me right so succinctly. Thank you. You're the type who takes one little thing a person says and acts like that's their entire argument. Assimilation? Tarantino has that coming out of his ass and every 8th grader knows it. He's mainstream as hell. It's so know nothings like you who wouldn't know a real underground film if it bit them to pretend they're not sheep.I got shoe boxes full of movies you never heard of.
@MontagTheMagician Lol. Wouldn't know a real underground film? You haven't a clue who the hell you're barking at. I own a film projector from 1900...doesn't even have sound. Maybe I've seen films YOU'VE never heard of. Maybe I plan to be a filmmaker someday. Maybe I've already written several screenplays myself and have taken classes on the subject...Even though I don't own many film reels, them being very hard to acquire these days, I AM educated on the subject. You're just being a braggart.
@MontagTheMagician And mainstream as hell? Not nowadays. Lots of people have seen Pulp Fiction, but only a few have heard of Tarantino. He himself is not very popular. Besides, his film are only as popular as you exaggerate them for being because...actually, they're more notorious than popular. People like you are what gives them fame. You folks that think that only old films are better because other say so, Christians, feminists, conservative blacks....You're all just a part of a category.
@MontagTheMagician Plus, if you think the "I know more about films so I'm right and you're wrong" method is going to work on me, you have another thing coming. I honestly don't care; obviously, you don't know enough about films to even make a fair judgment of those by an artist like Tarantino. I give the composers credit for making these scores, but they often don't go with the film they're originally used in. Tarantino is great with music fitting his films--you're just too blind to see it.
@MontagTheMagician Disagree? The Surrender in Inglourious Basterds compared to in The Big Gundown? I'm sorry, but some old films just aren't good. I personally don't care for The Big Gundown, mainly because of how ridiculously immature it is. However, what bothers me the most about that film is the fact that it hardly even goes with the film. Although Tarantino using music from older films may not be original(or too normal), the way he uses it is better and almost makes up for originality.
Immaginate di essere alla guida di una Alfa Romeo Giulia come quelle dei film...con questa canzone in sottofondo...Sarebbe bellissimo...Lunga vita ai Poliziotteschi all'italiana!!!!!
