Dear Onegin,

I've just heard that Mister Siepi passed away today. Such a beautiful voice and

a wonderful artist. I find myself returning to this video again and again because

even though he is near the end of his career, his sense of style and his way with

the vocal line are still without peer. This is a gorgeous performance and a great tribute to an immortal.

lesson in phrasing and graceful presentation

and should be recommended viewing for any

young singer embarking on an operatic career.

Siepi is the greatest bass of the century and

it's such a pleasure to hear him spin out the

lines with such poise. The voice is still

secure from top to bottom and the final low

note is as soft as velvet.
