you are awesome! I am working on a fig rig with the same concept. instead of twisting with your hands i am focusing on using fingers in a trigger action
That looks great. This is the first grip focus of this kind that I've seen. Let me know if you're considering selling future builds, as I'm definitely interested.
I'm curious about the "audio quick-connect cable", what exactly kind of cable and connector is this? It's hard to tell from the video, and I'm trying to figure out the best way of attaching the gear cable to the zip tie. Thanks!
great idea!! I'm actually in the process of trying to make a follow focus and so far its not working so well, but your idea is excellent. The only thing i need from u is a step by step video on how u actually built it, dont get me wrong, i followed most of it, but i'm a visual kinda guy and i need to see how it's done to get it right.
@CHARPU I will post some real world testing once I finish the DIY loupe and the shoulder stabilizer. So far during the testing I've done it has worked great.
This is made of pure awesome...I totally had the MacGyver theme music in my head while you were describing how you built it! Good work, I will have to make one soon, thank you!
dude if you mount the cam on a manfrotto 357 QR you wont need the metal pc to hold the wire .all you would have to do is screw the camera at the at the end of the mount and slide the qr plate back until the focus wheel aligns with the handle bars . once you have done that you will be able to cut down the wire making it stronger/stiffer .good luck im making on right now thanks for the idea.

This is fantastic. I'm currently buying a shoulder rig as shown in the "ikea DIY SLR Shoulder Mount" video. Hopefully I can add this grip shift too..

Very nice and well thought out. Makes sense to keep both hands on the rig while focusing.

@redhandstudios Thats funny cause MacGyver was my nickname in high school, and the song is on a non stop loop in my head, urging me to built $hit!
